You’ll find a lot of stuff (including user guide) in your user download area.
Download the latest version of Superior which features an integrated groove player.
Also, you need to read the ‘Read Me’ at the top of the ‘General Question’ section of the forum…… AND fill out the ‘Additional Info’ part of your profile so people can help you with support.
You know you only have two inputs at the most? Hardly the same as recording a multi mic’ed kit.
But yeah, I guess you’ll be able to record to one or two tracks and control volume with the Tascam’s fader.

I’m not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve, but you are limiting the options available from EZdrummer by recording to a mono or stereo track on a separate machine.
As long as you know that, it’s fine.
Audio output from your computer (soundcard or audio interface) to stereo line inputs on Tascam.

I’ve yet to see any developer say ” Here’s our new product…….it’s cr@p”
A product can still be ‘serious’ and not suit your needs.
For example, I have no use for Garageband, it doesn’t make it a toy or cr@p. Same goes for Reason. Actually Ableton isn’t the right DAW for me either.
So, let’s see what Beatstation is (I have no idea myself), then decide whether it offers us anything…… without pronouncing it cr@p.
It all depends. Every mix is different, subjective.
But if you are mixing a song and the bass drum sounds too loud, you should just go into the Superior mixer and turn it down.
If you want to perform a proper mix you need to adjust the levels in Superior. The default is just so the product sounds good out of the box.
Better still, break out the individual channels from Superior into several Pro Tools channels.
That way you can adjust all levels and eq, compress whatever you want.
A drum kit is a holistic thing.
Before drum machines and samplers, there were never ‘in ya face’ bass drums, larger than life.
Same with separate ride cymbals.
If you don’t ask you don’t get…… that’s ok, but as a drummer I do find it frustrating that a lot of people (including some well known producers) can’t accept a drum kit sounds good until it’s been taken so far away from the acoustic aspect and pretty much made to sound like a machine.
In the end we’re still waiting for the v-drum makers to match the quality of sound offered by the software suppliers like Toontrack, Platinum, XLN Audio etc….
You can buy a pretty convincing sampled piano by Kurzweil, but apparently not drums.
With a typical Toontrack sample set coming in at much less than $500 it shouldn’t be that expensive to do.
I hope I’m wrong, as I couldn’t be more pleased to see a new v-drum option make it onto the market.
In the Joey Jordison clip the sounds aren’t that good IMO, not as good as software drums such as Superior.
It could be just the clip though, although you’d think they’d want to showcase it in the best light.
Also, I’m not convinced about the realistic dimensions.
I mean one of the redeeming aspects of a v-drum kit is the portability and storage space savings.
If I want to lug around bigger sizes and wood shells, I think I’ll choose real drums thank you.
I hope this is a killer product ’cause I’m dying to jump into a realistic sounding v-drum product.
