Edit, seeing as Periphery are getting nicely referred, what about some Halpern grooves for the budding Djenter?

I want 10% of all sales if this idea goes ahead 😛

So not much of a request list then?

Gotta agree with Whitten, plus I’d rather “generic” packs (not a slur against the product) than have just “one” persons idea of drum sounds I could mess with.

I imagine it’s business and that a greater proportion of sales overall would go to a generic expansion pack….. gotta like Tool & their drum sound to really appreciate it…

Why not just have Terry Bozzio’s chromatic kit and be done with it toontrack? (tongue firmly planted in cheek hehe)

And sorry, but samples of Chris Adler? His drums or his playing?…. IMO overrated….

“two computers can be authorized simultaneously at the express condition that only one copy shall be in use at any one time.”

This in itself was a convincer for us, we’ve got two workstations and to be able to chop and change dedicated tasks rather than only having one for drum processing was a life saver.

And couldn’t agree more with the guy above ^^, I *HATE* that I have to put my machines on the net from time to time just to register, it either means I increase my chances of bad code getting on my machine, or I install assorted firewalls and then figure out which one’s currently try to screw my DAW over at any given moment.

Toontrack, with all due respect to the OP, you’re doing just fine, put your development costs in continuing a great line of products!

Also sidenote, might seem obvious, but there is less overhead on the CPU if the tracks are bounced, leaving more cycles to load specific plugins etc.

Can I just ask the purpose of needing the mono output are you specifically recording for broadcast mediums or something?

Either way, upconverting from 24bit to 32bit only produces extra silence, there is no introduction of noise and the waveform isn’t degraded.

Another quick question, it seems the industry HD format is 24bit /96khz, are you finding noticeable improvements with having the extra dynamic range at 32bit? as I hate to say it but for a majority of the time (for the moment) it still gets mixed down to 16bit.

What material are you recording? I’m Curious to know more about this endeavour 🙂

Please dear toontrack, avoid a USB key/dongle like the plague, if any of you are serious about your music, you won’t care it takes 3-4 days to install everything (in fact we had a hard drive failure 2 weeks again and had to reinstall 800gb of data!)

Anyway, these devices are notoriously a pain, either it’s overheads, conflicts or plain just taking ages to authorize etc. Plus, does any software manufacturer take into account we don’t want to keep buying more powered hubs just to support the bloody protection hardware lol

Godprobe, all I can say is a huge thank you, seriously and genuinely, that was incredibly helpful and at least gives me somewhere to start investigating, now if only toontrack could list a quick snippet of kit peices 🙂

Thanks again buddy, deffo beer tokens available at our next gig should you come along!

    ORIGINAL: Codestation

What is that wailing noise around 2:25, probably a distorted guitar through a ringmod with lots of reverb?

I think it’s the classic djent trick of finding a dissonant note pair, getting them to resonate nicely between each other, and then like you said, a slightly over zealous chorus, reverb and sat back in the mix.
