Well you can drag the midi out of SD3 onto the midi track in live. –

How do you do this? I would like to use a different kit on each scene, but when I drag SD3 in to AL10 (same with AL9) I still have to go in to SD3 to change kits for separate Scenes.

I use AL10 for live shows. The first scene will have backing tracks for a 70’s song, so I program a Dry kit in SD3. Then I’ll have a 90’s rock song for scene 2 and have a big sounding kit programmed in SD3. Is there a way for AL10 to automatically call up different kits for each song?

Well if you want different kits you will likely need to load seperate SD3’s for eackh kit. Cound be a memory hog, however, dont forget you can unloads all samples you are not using and save a bunch of memory.

    Hi,

I have setup Superior Drummer 3 on Abelton 9 live, are there any tutorials on how to record the drum audio out or Midi to Abelton ?

Well you can drag the midi out of SD3 onto the midi track in live.

You could also create an audio track and receive the audio from the SD3 track and record arm that track and hit record.

If you have midi in the track you could freeze the track (if that was possible in 9, may have been 9.5?).

The second one above is what I generally do when I want to record the audio from a vst.

As far as recording nidi from a controller or w/e just record arn the track SD3 is on, hit record and start playing.

As far as general knowledge about using live search on you tube, ther are 1000’s of tutorials on all sorts of live subjects.

    Hi,

I am not sure I understand exactly what you mean but if you look at the attached screen shot, this is what your Preset menu should look if you have installed the Presets for SD3. In the screen shot the ‘Part Presets > Drum Kits’ is expanded.

Too see EZX Presets, you need to have the EZX in question loaded instead of the SD3 Library.

Hi Indeed … have it sorted now …I wasnt clear that all the mixer presets are asstached to the kits as veriation. I recently (last hour or so) watched a vid of yours where the guy uses “parts” of a kit variation and turns off everything but mixer and macros. Than you get that mixer preset. The EZX presets are indeed in Parts mixer. How ever the SD3 core aren’t (was kind hoping they woul be listed as seperated choices.

Here is the Vid:(he does it at abou 0:28 and it seems to be the only way to change mixer presets with the core library. They are not listed in Parts/Mixer like I was expecting … would be nice to have them there. (I added a screen shot also.)

EDIT wrong vid 🙁 … was in a play list ….is the right one now.

    Boo !!!

I have also just DL’s SD3 and yes I dL’d the update …. and yet no mixer presets for SD3 or any of the 3 EZX expansions that I just bought.

EDIT: Opps looks like some of the EZX have em …. Is it just the case that the Core Library doesnt have Mixer presets in “Parts” and that they are specific to kits … like where you mouse over a kit and then there is another list and that is the mixer preset??
