Adding a “1/2 tempo feel” function like in old versions of Steinberg’s Groove Agent (1 to 3 and also in actual version 4).
This function was not action as “Right-Click > Change Tempo > Half Tempo” in EZD2. In EZD2, this function is modifying ALL the selected groove. In Groove Agent, this function affect only kick and snare and then keep HH and other instruments same as in normal mode.
To make the same type of feeling in EZD2, it’s not really handy.
    The workaround I found is:
    -Choose a groove
    -Drag it on the timeline
    -Right-clic and choose Copy
-Right-clic second time and choose “Change Tempo > Half Tempo”
-Right-clic third time and choose “Paste > Hi-Hat”
-Right-clic fourth time and choose “Paste > Hi-Hat Pedal”
-And re right-clicking for each other instrument I’d like to hear in my “hal tempo feel” pattern….
    That’s SOOOOOO much “right-clics”… 😉

    Yeah!!!
    And also, give us EZ-Strings/Strings Ensemble, EZ-Reeds, EZ-Woodwinds, EZ-Timpani, EZ-Guitar, EZ-Rattletrap, EZ-Kazoo, EZ-Singer, OH WAIT!!! Give us EZ-Sampler!!!

Huh!.. Not sure about those lasts… But, please, consider those firsts… 😉

Having a “Keyswitch” function allowing to choose different sets of shades manually.
For example, on a rim shot, the MIDI controller modulation wheel could be used to control the striking position to obtain harmonic content variations. Like on a real snare in short.
This feature would work more deeply for HH. IRL, very strong pressure on the foot HH has a different effect on the sound that a high pressure, moderate, etc …

Something cool on a snare is when the man with the sticks in the hands begins to insert ghost-notes between the most important shots (usually the 2nd and 4th beat so).
In EZD, the AMOUNT function does not always act in the same way according to each EZX loaded.
On some EZX, increasing AMOUNT on snare reflects the addition of the famous ghost-notes, but on others, it plays rather well slamming and lose the interest of the shade.
There should be an additional option when selecting the snare drum so choose whether you want the AMOUNT on whether full skins strikes, the rim-shot, or the ghost-notes.

EZD manages VERY wrong time signature changes in the host mode (VST mode in DAW). Indeed, if you insert such a simple 3/4 bar in the middle of your song, that signature change is not reflected in EZD timeline which suddenly gets lost a bit and does not know very well where he is. For a VSTi of this quality, this gap is just unforgivable !! It is imperative to fix it !!!

Those who have already tasted the joys of “Groove Quantize” in Cubase will understand me:
Having a groove/feeling/swing/callitlikeyouwant extraction tool from a rhythm loop (drum or other like a funk guitar rhythmic, for example) to have a “template” quantification that can be applied then a EZD Stand-Alone pattern.
Basically, if you love a particular groove sonhg, for example, one from James Brown, you launch the tool that analyzes the temporal position of each transient and converts the result into a quantize template freely applicable to a MIDIfile. We can already do that internally some DAWs like Cubase.
I believe that Steinberg is the inventor of this thing (appeared in Cubase VST5 here nearly 14 years ago) and has evolved since then, but it remains a tool located beyond a virtual instrument. Here, we could do it on a standalone EZD and it would be SOOOO COOL !!!

Toontrack should propose Cubase Drum Maps XML files with all-EZX kits.

For those who do not know what are drum-maps, see this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVLmi51HXuY

Drum Maps are not so hard to make, but while we have many EZXs, it’s not so cool to do…

When loading in the Song Creator parts from different banks, it is sometimes found with enough velocity differences, sometimes very important.

It would have an easier way to handle this. For now, it is always possible to launch the Edit Style Play and change the velocity, but it is often binding because it is not easy to find the right value from one clip to another.

Should be a function to manage its velocity more easily throughout the song.

Beyond a certain level AMOUNT, the virtual drummer starts playing with his two arms, two legs, but … uh … his head, eventually see his cock … Hmm …

In short, a drummer who step 5 elements at the same time, it’s called an alien … Should see to improve this … Especially without editing grooves in our DAW, no a madman control over the content…

Have a means “listening” from an external source to match the function AMOUNT …

Yes, then this one, it is stinker, so I explained.

Imagine you compose on the guitar improvising. Your guitar playing will be soft and sometimes light, sometimes more energetic and fit-in. It results in change in volume, but also frequency intensity. If you play a few notes on a penta à la Gilmour, you will develop less energy than if you are strumming like a brute.

Imagine an algorithm able to analyze real-time data and apply them to AMOUNT function.

Basically, if you play cool, AMOUNT decreases and the intensity of the groove of EZD am the movement. If instead you push grandma into the nettles, EZD racing and becomes crazy !!! I know that another battery VSTi support this function, but I do not remember his name (perhaps Jamstix? Some surely will refresh my memory).

In short, it could make EZD a great improvisation tool !!!

Having humanization features in quantifications to avoid sounding too robotic to a programmed groove by us adding some random dose in the rhythmic interpretation and / or dynamic.

In the SEARCH tab, there is the possibility of including Toontrack’s MIDI banks that we have not yet purchased. This is useful to show if the individual groove we are looking at one of the banks that has not yet available. But the only playing this or these grooves is a bit too limited to convince himself and realize what we can expect for our piece being created.

It should therefore afford to use these particular grooves in the Song Creator function, even restrict their use in time or prohibit the backup to force us to buy it. But at least it would go a little further, and probably encourage purchase.

A MIDI editor integrated in the stand-alone version !!

That would solve the problem the problem POST # 2.

You just see if either of the two proposals would be more suited to the credo EaZy from Toontrack.

Personally, I think a Drum-Edit is simpler to use. After all, this kind of editor is present in almost ALL major DAWs when it comes to program drum rhythms.

Programming accents or break is not easy in EZD2 used stand-alone, especially if you do not have a MIDI controller. The only way to do this is using the mouse to click the elements of the kit during looped recording. As EZD offers no graphical grooves editing (via piano-roll/drum-edit), it is hard to get out something coherent instinctively. One way to improve this would be an “accents-track”. A sort of time-line representing the time grid with the relevant divisions according to either the zoom level (plus the fastest rhythmic divisions we zoom the more we see appear as triplet-notes), or with a menu allowing the user to select the rhythmic division of the quantization. It would then only check the time positions on which one wishes to place the accents.

A second menu in this editor would, like the “Selected” Amount of the function, to choose which instrument(s) of the kit must be applied and emphases for each of accents.

Each accent, it would obviously be possible to manage the velocity.
