It all depends on how they sound in the mix. You generally shouldn’t have all the hits the same velocity as that take away from the “human factor” and it will sound like a machine gun especially if it’s quantized to the grid.
In EZdrummer2. I want to use a setting for the other grooves in my other songs. I’m running Protools 10 on Mac OS 10.7.5.
I know MIDI is just data. I’m just trying to grasp on what is the point of having reverb and Ambience tracks in EZdrummer2 if you can’t export them into your DAW? It’s not like I can create an Aux track for plug ins when it will affect the entire drum kit, when I only want to add certain effects to certain drum pieces. I guess I can always export audio file and create individual tracks for each drum piece, like it’s done with a real kit.
Yes, there is MIDI in EZDrummer2 and I drag them into my DAW. Would you recommend to take out the MIDI in EZDrummer or the DAW to get rid of the phase effect it causes?
Henrik, I am having the same Issue in Pro tools. Using PT 10, Mac OS 10.7.5, EZDrummer2 and I get the same chorus effect when I drag the midi files into my DAW. I do have “follow host” on. Should I not drag them in or bypass the plug in?
Understood. I just wanted to get a feel on how people prefer to do it. Thank you.
I do save my projects on my PC, they don’t show up on my Mac automatically. I have to e-mail the midi file and download it on my Mac….am I doing it wrong?
You can also, use the cut tool, to remove or edit a small section, then select everything behind it and drag it into place. I use that a lot!
Well, I don’t know if it’s some type of setting on the PC or Google, but it will not let me add the file to being a midi file from EzDrummer2.
