Problems with cubase freezing were due to a partially failed installation of the Nashville EZX. Reinstalling was the fix.

Verified the same problem in Toontrack Solo: Some drums in the kit make no sound and switching to “Basic Kit” in the Nashville EZX causes Toontrack Solo to stop responding. This is without cubase running.

    – Got the RME USB Flash Update tool and updated by Babyface interface from version 179 to 184. Still same problem with freezing in Solo.

    – Once again downloaded “Nashville EZX” for PC and the update: “https://www.toontrack.com/downloadfile.asp?id=559503&prod=18&file=EZX_Nashville_UP.zip&upid=39- Latest update for the Nashville EZX – 2008-09-08. Ran “TT111_EZX_Nashville_WIN.exe” 748,354 KB, then ran “EZX Nashville Installer.msi” 1,753 KB (repair option).  Next ran “EZX Nashville Update” 2,717 KB.

    – Fired up ToonTrack Solo 1.3.2 64 bit. I now have all the drums in the Nashville EZX. There is now a delay when I switch to “Basic Kit” but it doesn’t freeze. I also now realize that some drums are disabled (set to None) in the Basic kit.

    Problem solved.

Bumping up my FireFace USB Settings (Babyface) Buffer Size up to 2048 reduced but did not eliminate the problems with playback, but the lock up problem is still there, program stops responding.

Selecting “Basic Kit” in the Nashville EZX causes the EZDrummer interface and Cubase to stop responding, even when that selection is made while a song is not playing in Cubase.

Soloing just my drum track, it is cutting out and sputtering. If I look at VST performance in Cubase, ASIO is peaking and when it does I hear the drums cutting out. If I use the Groove Agent One VST instead of the EZDrummer VST with the same exact drum track, ASIO never peaks and the drums never cut out.
