I agree whole-heartedly as well. I love EZKeys and do not understand the OP’s unmet expectations.

I never downloaded the EZKeys demo so I’ve not experienced whatever the OP feels was wrongly misrepresented to him.
I never saw anything in the Toontrack description of the product, the videos or sample audio that would suggest that EZKeys
was anything more than a harmonic songwriting composition tool.
And considering the editing enabled by its interface, it’s an amazingly EZ tool at that.

And of course, it is also an awesome sounding Virtual Instrument!!
So the OP can play/record melodies, harmonies & FULL solo keyboard concertos with it – to the full extent of any virtual instrument.

Thank you both. Based on your replies (and the layering described), I’m going to add the ROCK! EZX to my EZD/SD2 palette. In fact, I’m quite anxious to give it a workout!! Please forgive my confusion. It’s just that so many of the EZX & SDX new release announcements always seemed to emphasize “all new recordings” whereas this one kept referencing “selections from the near infinite Toontrack sound vaults, featuring rare and vintage drums recorded over the past decade in renowned studios like New York’s Allaire Studios, Blackbird Studios in Nashville and 2 Khz Studios in London“. Thanks again.

Personally, I’d like to be able to sort & group all of the various MIDI grooves by BPM regardless of style or product line (EZX, SDX).

I thought responded to this after you posted this question. I guess it didn’t go through. There isn’t any sort of MIDI performance library with Trilian.

I wouldn’t mind an EZ Bass plugin with upright bass, a Fender P-bass, a McCartney-esque Hofner Viola Bass, and a hollowbody with flatwounds. Preferably, sampled with mic’d amp(Ampeg BR15?) and D.I. perspectives with round robins, several velocities, and a picked or fingered tool option. Include Bass MIDI performance packs for bluegrass, soul, country, rock, and folk…and I won’t be able to give Toontrack my money fast enough.

Yes. Thank you. You did respond to my question in another thread
(http://www.toontrack.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=128798 post #5) where you had also posted the same comments that you posted here prompting my questions.

I was sure which thread that you might have been monitoring. Thanks again.
You saved me the disappointment & cost of purchasing Trillian.
…but I will happily buy a Toontrack EZbass module.
They really seem to know how to put together a quality product and importantly,
how to support & supplement it.

    esh.

I also cast my vote for EZ Bass, but really I don’t want the samples. I already have Spectrasonics Trilian. What I’d like is actually a library of common patterns, walks, and runs/fills played by a real bass player and categorized by style in the MIDI format. For me, the samples part is already more than covered…

Interesting & timely. I have been exhaustively researching Spectrasonics Trillian.
I love the samples and videos showcasing it being played but I could not find any mention
whether there was any MIDI included with the product – only a mention of an Arpeggiator.

Wagz, Can I assume from your post/request that Trillian does NOT include any MIDI?

Yes!!! cast my vote for EZ Bass!!!
I play guitar but am not confident in my bass playing or tone.
I have bought and use EZDrummer, EZKeys and SuperiorDrummer.
I am a huge Toontrack fan and own many of the EZX’s and SDX’s.
