difference being that if you had had the box in hand before buying you might have known that you were buying only a serial number as is the case with many software packages under a certain size nowadays.
Does the box not state clearly that it “contains no software”?
it is a shame that your well-known music store did not mention this on their online site.

i firmly requested physical discs from the salesperson at GuitarCenter and walked out with official Toontrack-labeled discs so i know they existed for EZDrummer1 and EZX expansions. We all know that they still exist for SuperiorDrummer…there’s simply too much content in an SDX to have to download it all.

from who did you buy the box?
    a brick & mortar storefront?

perhaps try only 1 or 2 pieces of the groove: only the kick & snare or only the hats…

have you enabled the “Search Web Shop MIDI” option?
is it possible that without enabling this option you might not have grooves in your purchased libraries that match up with the sample?

There is a difference between “Registering a Product Serial Number” and “Authorizing a New Implementation”.
    — You’ve already registered the product’s Serial Number.
    — You may or may not have to use another authorization to run EZDrummer and your EZX expansions.
