    You’ll find your Toontrack instruments listed in Logic under “AU Instruments” in the I/O selection menu
    on the channel strip for your Software Instrument Track.

    does the “MIDI IN” indicator on your M-Track Plus light
    when you play the keyboard?

    what is the make and model of the keyboard?
    what powers the keyboard?
    does it have USB as well?

    unless i am misunderstanding your question,
    the answer is ‘Yes, you can use separate keys and strings sections with only one piano library and without the Mellotoon expansion.’

    the 2 instrument parts of each grroove are distinctly separate files and can be used independentl of each other.
