…, Then I have to Import the midi file from there back into pro Tools , so I can edit the file in Pro Tools Midi Editor window.
…., then getting that Midi file back into EZD2 is the same P.I.T.A procedure , but reversed …., why oh why cant these be drop and drag straight out of EZD2 into pro Tools ?

what version of Pro Tools are you using??
I’m using Pro Tools 11 and I can easily drag my EZDrummer2 song timeline straight into Pro Tools
as a whole track or in block pieces – from the plug-in or from the standalone.

    I’ve used EZDrummer1 for years. I also have SuperiorDrummer2.
EZDrummer2 is a great product as is and is not a purchase that I regret.

    Yes, I agree that there is room for improvement and that EZDrummer2 can be made better;
Yes, I’d love to see a piano roll-style MIDI editor.
I know for a fact that Toontrack listens to their customers and I “let not the perfect be the enemy of the good”.

You posted the same question in another thread where it was answered:

It’s looking like this is probably a hardware issue with the device (despite it being good under other very similar setups). I have raised a ticket with Line 6 based on info through their forums.

That’d been my guess…but I have no experience with either of those particular soundcards. I assume that they are both external.
I have used EZDrummer2 with a number of audio interfaces without issue.
(Tascam US-800, M-Audio ProFire 610, Avid ElevenRack, Fractal AxeFX II as well as my MacBook’s built-in output)

Maybe we can focus on a solution that helps you to do whatever it is that you hope to accomplish during the demo period….
what do you hope to accomplish?

Please do not confuse registering a product serial number with authorizing a product authorization on a computer.

When you register a product serial number to your Toontrack account, THAT is a once-and-done event
that determines your purchase of a product license.
Doing so provides you with 4 authorizations to activate on up to 2 computers simultaneously.
You should not have to ever re-register the product’s serial number again.

    they sound like great guitars.

can you explain your signal chain ?

    For example:
what is your guitar plugged into? what are its settings?
then what? what are its settings?
then what? what are its settings?
when does EZMix2 enter the picture?
what does your recorded track sound like without EZMix2 enabled? is it clean? fizzy? distorted?

forgetting about your past issues with EZDrummer1 for the moment, regarding a DAW,
if I were running a Windows PC, I might still be using Sonar X3, or Pro Tools 11

can you be more specific about your EZDrummer2 installation issues?
do you have administrative rights (UAC) to install software on your new laptop??

can you please post a screenshot of your EZDrummer2 browser tab?
and how ”bout some details about your computer, OS, RAM?
is your EZDrummer2 updated to version 2.0.2 ??

Alas, I have good news to report to you!!
I can tell you for a fact that GrooveMonkee MIDI is very compatible with EZDrummer and SuperDrummer.

Check out the screenshot below…I have a lot of 3rd-party MIDI grooves from GrooveMonkee, PlatinumSamples and OddGrooves installed.
Therein may be the key…if & when provided, I highly recommend using their EZDrummer-formatted MIDI (and installer).
If your 3rd-party MIDI does not come with an installer or in Toontrack/EZDrummer format,
I’d place those MIDI grooves in the “MY MIDI” User MIDI folder.
Also, please note that non-Toontrack-formatted MIDI may trigger different kit pieces than intended.

Oh and before you comment that 3rd-party MIDI does not appear on the [Search] tab
and cannot be found by the “Tap2FInd” feature, it can’t. Others have noted this “deficiency” (quite loudly) here on the forum,
and requested it as a future enhancement… Some would like it to index & search 3rd-party MIDI.
Others want it to index & search their own user-created MIDI beats and grooves.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t have a database under circumstances of a normal installation,
I’d make sure that you’ve downloaded and installed the latest EZDrummer2 update(s), currently version 2.0.2
and any EZX expansions available online in your Toontrack account.

If that doesn’t help, unless someone else chimes in with another idea, I’d probably try uninstalling and re-installing it.
It’s not that large of an installation.

sorry, but I’m not clear where you are looking.

Perhaps this will help. There are a number of ways of selecting drum kits in EZDrummer2…

check out page 11 of the Operation Manual or these previous related forum posts:

None? There are some within the included EZDrummer2 Vintage & Modern libraries.

One of the most amazing new features included in EZDrummer2 is the [Search] tab
and its ability to organize, sort and filter the MIDI grooves that you own and the MIDI grooves available in the Toontrack Web Shop.

from page 14 of the Operation Manual:
EZdrummer 2 will also let you search and preview matches
among the entire groove library of packs commercially available from the Toontrack web shop.
To do this, simply engage the Show Web Shop MIDI button above the Tap-2-Find and filtering area:

Doing so, I can also find 3/4 grooves in the following MIDI packs:
Indie Folk, Songwriter1, Songwriter4, Music City USA, NY Studio – Vol 3, and Jazz.

    You almost had it.

In the EZDrummer2 “Drums” window (of any EZX ,
you were just a click away…

How large (or small) was the file that you downloaded?
When I download the installer from my Toontrack account, it is 1.2GB.
