I use EZ Drummer 2 mostly for Songwriting. Normally I put that on an Aux Track in Pro Tools. But I also have a setup where I make up a whole bunch of Midi Tracks which are routed to the EZ Drummer or Superior Drummer. That’s because sometime I want to separate some Beats which isn’t very convenient in EZ Drummer2.
For Superior I normally put it also on an Instrument Track but all Outs are routed to it’s own channel in Pro Tools. Nowadays I don’t do that anymore. When I am satisfied with my Midifiles and how it sounds with my Superior Kit I bounce it all out and reimport it. Saves a lot more CPU Power for Mixing but of course it eats up a lot of Harddrivespace. Heavy Greetz
EachHit describes my typical use as well.
You don’t mention what OS, hardware, or DAW that you are running,
but you should be aware that in a Toontrack default installation,
EZDrummer2 will install over top of EZDrummer1.
The two products cannot exist on the same PC or Mac…
Beyond that, AFAIK, MIDI created in & exported from EZDrummer2 should import flawlessly
into EZDrummer1 (using the same EZX expansion & mapping).
PS. updates to your older EZX’s are FREE!!! in order for them to run under EZDrummer2,
available in your Toontrack online account.
For clarity’s sake, as a user, I have to strongly testify that the FULL version of EZDrummer2 AAX works marvelously on Mac.
(I have never installed the demo and claim no knowledge of its fair use or limitations.)
Please do not confuse registering a serial number with authorizing your two (2) authorizations per license.
A license/serial number is registered to a Toontrack user account,
whereas that license/serial number is capable of being authorized on 2 simultaneous computers for that user.
Ultimately, you need only install EZDrummer2 on the new computer
and authorize that installation under the Toontrack account established earlier.
You need do nothing with the serial number. It has already been registered, as the message suggested.

The recommended FAQ refers to triggering the percussion with a MIDI controller or step programming in a piano editor, etc.
which was the question posted originally.
With regards to your comment, one has to assume that you are referring to adding percussion
to MIDI in the EZD2 song track using only the tools within EZDrummer2.
Pages 27-28 of the EZDrummer2 Operation Manual states:
When your song needs that extra rhythmic touch, adding percussion can do just the trick.
In Edit Play Style, you have three percussion pads: One Shot (claps/snaps/cowbell), Shaker/Maracas and Tambourine,
each with an On/Off button, which activates or deactivates the percussion for the respective pad.
To add percussion, proceed as follows:
1. Activate the percussion pad you wish to use by clicking the On/Off button in the upper left corner of the pad.
This will also automatically select the pad.
2. Start playback to hear the results. Depending on the nature of the groove (time signature, style, etc.),
an appropriate percussion groove is already selected for the instrument.
The percussion part is also added to the Song Block and is highlighted.
3. By using the Amount knob, you can now switch between different percussion grooves
from the percussion library for the selected percussion instrument.
From the Drums tab, you can make changes regarding what percussion instrument
or variation each pad plays, by clicking the arrow to open the Instrument Properties
window.
