Are you referring to EZDrummer1 or EZDrummer2?
Available as a plug-in only, EZDrummer1 requires a DAW or a program like Toontrack Solo to ‘host’.
There is no standalone version of EZDrummer1.

And, having just gone to the updates tab, which sent me to a MY PRODUCTS page with “updates available”, I see the update version of EZD2 is 2.0.2, which is the one I downloaded and installed yesterday.

It seems to me that you (Harry) are referencing the ‘Update’ function in EZDrummer2
while Scott is asking you to download the updates posted on the Updates tab found by logging into your Toontrack account on the Toontrack website,
under My Account > My Products >.

the Volume slider is located in the bottom right corner of the standalone’s interface
as depicted on pg 21 of the Operation Guide.

You probably just need to download, unzip/extract and apply the latest update.
Have you logged into your Toontrack account ?

All registered downloads, including updates are accessed via your Toontrack account under “My Account > My Products”.

An error 1309 is caused by attempting to run the installer before the contents of the download have been un-zipped.
To avoid this error please right click the downloaded file and select “Extract All,”
then choose a destination for the files to be extracted to.
Finally, please run the now extracted installer.

Error 1309 can also relate to the length of the path to the files,
which means you will need to run the installer from higher up in the directory tree, i.e move/uncompress the archive to the top of your C: drive.

Please also remember to check for updates once you have run the main installer.
Updates are found in your Toontrack account under My account > My Products > (the specific product) > Updates.

I don’t own or use Ableton nor am I familiar with how to operate Virtual Instruments in Ableton,
but I did search the forum for posts referencing Ableton.

While the following posts are not specific to EZDrummer, they still may be of use to you:

Did you download & use the EZDrummer1 ver1.40 installer from your Toontrack account
or did you use an old EZDrummer1 disc?

Please download & use the EZDrummer1 ver1.40 installer found by logging into your Toontrack account,
and selecting ‘My Products’ from the ‘My Account’ drop down menu.
There you’ll find the 1.40 installer.
Please do not neglect to download the relevant EZDrummer1 updates from the [Update] tab on that display as well as updates for Toontrack Solo, if you use it.

Do a fresh install of ezdrummer2. You do not need to install EZDrummer1 at all and EZDrummer2 would overwrite it anyway.

But that means Matt loses the use of the EZ Drummer kits right? I love my EZ drummer kits such as Vintage Sticks and Brushes. Seems a pity to have to give up such good sounds. I may not bother upgrading to windows 10 if that is the case!

EZDrummer libraries all work in SuperiorDrummer.

the reason im installing ezdrummer is because i have a crossgrade upgrade installation disk(s) of superior drummer 2.0
in short- i cant install superior drummer 2.0 without ezdrummer installed first
    matt

Crossgrade or not, your installation of SuperiorDrummer is in NO way reliant upon installing EZDrummer first.
To clarify, having EZDrummer registered/licensed in your Toontrack account enabled you to buy the SD Crossgrade
but you DO NOT have to install EZDrummer before installing your SuperiorDrummer Crossgrade.

also, for an overview of EZDrummer2, have you checked out the Operation Manual available from the Main Menu dropdown?
and have you checked out any of the awesome videos that Toontrack and others have made to illustrate various techniques and features?

I still have not met up with any users that can help me with EZ DRUMMER 2. I hope one day this program makes sense to me. Frustrated…..

did you read John’s response (post#5)?

If “Preview Original Tempo” is activated, this means that when you audition a selected
groove, it will play back in the tempo it was recorded at, not the tempo set in EZdrummer 2
    or in your host program.

    Thanks, Henrik –

The problem with that workaround is that I tend to write on my laptop in Standalone mode, but the ProTools rig is on a different desktop computer. So I usually move files from one machine to the other on a USB drive or via email. Do you know of any workarounds for moving an EZKeys project between two computers, other than exporting to MIDI?

Thanks again for your help – much appreciated!

you could save the project to DropBox or GoogleDrive on the 1st PC and open similarly open it from DropBox or GoogleDrive on the 2nd desktop.

When you purchase Midi from Groove Monkee, do those loops show up when using Tap to Find? Also, is there a way to pull those loops into the Midi drop zone? I only see the EZX libraries. Thanks.

The Groove Monkee MIDI that I have purchased has included a ‘Toontrack installer’ that placed their grooves within the indexed structure folder
    of your Toontrack grooves.

So to answer your questions, YES, Groove Monkee MIDI does show up in Tap2Find,
and YES, they do appear in the EZDrummer2 browser & SEARCH tab…allowing you to drag them into the MIDI drop zone and timeline.

MIDI from 3rd-party providers that do not offer a Toontrack installer can be placed in the ‘My MIDI’ folder to the same end.
