page 52 of the SuperiorDrummer Operation Manual (Section 8.2):
…the microphone BLEED SECTION has a substantial impact on your system’s resources –
each time an instrument is ‘heard’ through an additional microphone, more samples are being utilized.
Each ‘voice’ creates additional demands on your computer’s memory and CPU, so additional bleed can negatively
affect these resources, if left totally unmanaged.
To help relieve your system, especially if you intend to use numerous FX in the Mixer, SUPERIOR allow you to
optimize the voice count for each and every instrument present in the Studio window. Again the ‘Voices and
Layers’ section is where the optimization takes place. Simply select any instrument combination using the usual
shortcuts and type the desired value in the ‘Voice Limit’ field:
The number of voices for an instrument dictates how many concurrent samples of the same articulation are
allowed to ring until automatic muting of the lowest in volume occurs. High values require more CPU.
[Tips] Note that the Voice Limit can be specified at articulation level using the switch.
In EZDrummer2, you can preview/audition all of the Toontracks MIDI packs
by enabling “Show Web Shop MIDI” on the [Search] tab.
Sorry that I can’t be of more help.
We use Macs exclusively in each of our rooms with a variety of displays & resolutions.
Our main room uses a 27″ display, a Raven MTi and a 4k monitor (simultaneously).
SuperiorDrummer looks & works without issue on each of these displays.
Likewise, our 2nd room uses a 27″ iMac and a Raven MTi.
Again, SuperiorDrummer looks & works without issue here, too.
Personally, I use a MacBook Pro Retina with all DAWs (Pro Tools 12, Logic Pro X, Studio One 3, and Reaper)
and all Toontrack products (EZDrummer2, EZKeys, EXMix2, and SuperiorDrummer2) at its default Retina display configuration.

How are you connecting the e-kit to your MacBook?
I ask because both USB and MIDI have their limits in terms of cord length.

for those visitors who cannot access the areas of the forum where these threads reside,
I’ll try to quote the meat-and-potatoes of their suggestions.

I don’t know if this has been covered elsewhere but I thought it may help a user or two here.
As we all know, higher and higher resolution displays on our laptops are becoming more and more common. Even full HD now seems quaint. My Dell XPS 15 has a resolution of 3200 x 1800 and that’s not unusual anymore. The result is that some software can open in impossibly small windows – rendering it useless. In my experience all Toontrack software falls into this category.
Fear not! There is a fairly simple solution.
The lowly manifest file.
Below is the text of an example manifest file. In fact, it’s the manifest file for my laptop – fixing EZdrummer 2.
EZdrummer64false
Note the line toward the beginning that says:
“name=”EZdrummer64.exe””
That must contain the exact name of the executable file. A few lines below it is another place we need to enter the application name.
To use this file. Open a new, blank text file. Copy and paste the above into the text file and save it to the directory where the offending application lives.
In my case, that directory is:
C:Program FilesToontrackEZdrummer
The file must be named as follows:
Exact original executable name + .manifest.
eg.
EZdrummer64.exe.manifest
As mentioned before, it must reside in the same directory as that exe.
After the file exists and is in the correct location, all you have to do is launch the application normally and windows will take care of the rest.
There is ZERO danger in using this. It only gives windows a few instructions that tell it how to render. NO permanent changes are made to anything. If you don’t like the results, simply delete the manifest file and all will return to original state.
Hope this helps,
Greg

– Try rightclick the EZdrummer icon and choose properties, then compatibility tab.
– Uncheck “Disable display scaling on high DPI settings”.
