That was exactly it! Thanks, John!
Although I have had SD3 for years (and SD2 before that), this is the first time I have used it in this way.
Happy to put you at 1,000 thanks!
Actually, I think I found what I am looking for for my 8 song project. I am doing this in the plugin in my DAW.
I had my real drummer play on his Roland vDrums, and I have since discovered I can re-route the MIDI notes, which will be much easier, since he always plays with his high-hat not-quite-tightly closed, like a heavy metal drummer.
I want all hits on Hi-Hat Open Edge 3 (MIDI 26) to map to Hi-Hat Closed Edge (MIDI 22)
I am doing a MIDI map to route 26 –> 22
I am wondering if it would be easier to edit it in the DAW project to remap the MIDI Mapping to the high-hat hits I want it to be?
Thank you. I have done that, by moving all of the hits to “closed” edge lane. There are no longer any hits in the Open Edge 3 lane, but that is what I am still hearing. It’s as if there are still “some” hits in the Open Edge 3 lane, when there are not any actual hits in that lane – maybe the “harder” hits are doing that. I really want them all to be the closed edge lane.
I also updated to Superior Drummer 3 to 3.3.7, (up from 3.3.6) but that didn’t make any difference.
Do you have any suggestions?
Any news on this? I have it skipping every other beat on a 2 different tom toms that I am trying to render to MIDI, and it will literally take me many hours to do it manually, adding the beats into the DAW 1 at a time. Is there an update to this software? Is ToonTrack still in business?
