You can install the sound library on an external drive, you should get the option to choose a location when running the part 1 installer. All parts of the core sound library must be installed at the same location.

Yes, if you can select and put the Upgrade version in your cart, you should be able to purchase it as well.

You can download the SD3 MIDI again from the Product Manager > Superior Drummer Library Part 1 > Show Details:
