Thanks Scott. Yeah, heard about the Zendrum. Can’t really afford that though. Thanks for the input.

Ezdrummer 2 only supports Acid 7.0 and higher.

Thanks Scott! That completes the equation.
If I want to be able to enable the MIDI Out on EZD2 I need a more up to date host.
    Thanks again all!

No worries – was just trying to let you know that I knew better than to try and record actual MIDI data.
Thought I made that clear, when I said the MIDI data went to the JL Cooper PPS2 and then the converted audio from that was recorded.
The converted audio is the synch tone.
Either way, I thoroughly enjoy working with the 2480 and am just experimenting with different ways to use EZD with it.
Sorry if you thought it was, but I don’t look at any of this as a waste of time
    Cheers

Love the 2480 so that’s not an option
As I stated in the post, the midi out goes to the PPS2 where it is coded into a synch tone i.e converted audio signal

Olaf – thanks for your reply. I do have Acid Pro 4.0 at the moment. How do I set up EZDrummer 2 in it as a host?

    Thanks for the help

    Hi John,
I hadn’t heard back from you, but as an update, I saw on my account that there were Updates to the libraries and EXDrummer2. I installed them, and now the sounds in the library play! But….they didn’t quite sound right. I saw there was also an update on My Products for the Pop/Rock EZX. I downloaded it, and when I attempted to install it I got an error message saying “Your library seems damaged. You will need to re-install the full product before applying this update”.
Could a problem with the library have been the issue all along? Can I uninstall EZDrummer2 on my PC and then re-install it without losing another authorizations?
    Thanks!
    Richard

    Hi,

can you show me a screen shot of your EZdrummer 2 interface?
Please also include your system specifications: OS, host, hardware, etc.

    Hi
Here is a shot of the speaker properties Advanced tab.
I am running Windows 8 on a new Lenovo PC
Keep in mind that the EZDrummer2 10 day Demo I downloaded a few weeks ago worked fine on this computer
    Thanks for your help

    Hi again Rogue!
    Thanks again for the reply.
Don’t worry about being patronizing…ya never know when you can just plain forget something!
In this case though, I did have the OUT connector of the Uno connected to the OUT port of my DR-5, so that was OK.
Here’s where my ignorance does come into play though…
I opened EZ Drummer and thought I could get my DR-5’s midi signal to kick off EZ Drummer on it’s own.
I guess that it doesn’t work that way and you need to have some kind of DAW program open on the laptop.
I downloaded Reaper, and got it all to connect and it works!
The only problem I have now is latency! Ya see, I have a synch tone recorded on my Roland VS-2480, along with my recorded guitar and vocal tracks. On playback, the tone goes to a JL Cooper PPS2 then to my DR-5, which kicks off the drums. Now, to get the better sounds of EZ Drummer, I have EZ open in Reaper, and the DR-5 now kicks off EZ….but it’s just about a 1/2 beat behind!!! Damn!
Is there any way around that?
    Thanks again!

Hi Rogue, and thanks for the reply.
I had already done as you suggested, and in Solo, Options/Midi Devices shows “USB Uno MIDI Interface”.
My intent here is to write the drum tracks for a song on my Boss DR-5, then have the DR-5 play and kick off EZ Drummer on my laptop. Audio out from my laptop will then go to my Roland VS-2480 so I can record the stereo drum tracks.
    I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to your reply.
