You definitely want to experiment with mixing to make the kick cut through. Maybe start with EQ?

Make sure you check out guitar center and musicians friend! I got mine for $30 less because of a 15% off coupon through musicians friend. The upgrade was originally $199 and I got it for $169!

Well i’m a rock/metal drummer so I don’t really play soft hits all that much. The velocity on the snare for instance fluctuates between 100 and 127, but Id say most hits should be around 120 right?

Did you adjust the hi hat curve in the mapping presets? Also maybe trying using the learn function for each of the sounds: hi hat open, closed and chick sound?

Tried to adjust buffer settings, didn’t help. Toontrack customer service says I have to adjust the velocity curves, a little annoying. It is weird because in garage band the module triggers their kits just fine. It seems there’s some kind of communication issue between Superior drummer 2.0 and the module. Maybe an interface will help superior to better under stand the midi information coming from the module?

Hey Jimmy, I believe there’s a setting for after touch messages under the envelope section of superior drummer, on the right-hand side of the main window.

I’m using the DDRUM DD5XM module with my custom drum kit and superior drummer 2.0 does not trigger sensitivities correctly. I wonder if It’s because the program doesn’t directly support DDRUM as a manufacturer in the mapping tab. It’s only like Roland, Alesis and Yamaha.
