I wouldn’t say ‘isolated’ I’d say better.
I agree though, the problem is the alternative sound libraries generally aren’t recorded in a way that would translate to the Toon engine…… except the Platinum packs that is.
I said isolated….. at the top … like referring to a gold medalist

True indeed Rockdude. I just do not know…for me it seems Toontrack’s engine has isolated itself from competition… at the top… specially after releasing the 64 bit version. almost every crappy computer nowadays are operating with 64 bit os and have at least 4 GB RAM … the engine is super trusty… plays like no other with e-drums … and to make it worst through the videos I have seen so far they seem to really enjoy and have a ball doing their own sounds.
The combination of the Evil Drums SDX with Superior’s engine is perfect for me. It is the exact type of sound I appreciate. Would love to see at least kit packs from Platinum Samples.. imagine Steve Ferrone and Chad Smith’s kits in from the Superior format? I wish is for those to be coming next š
I like what Sonic Reality is doing in terms of sampling.. it is a shame though how terrible it plays with e-drums.
I could not resist and got the Metal Heads pack…. and being palying with it this morning and man how good it sounds. I did the same thing as somebody already posted earlier… loaded the DW kit from Metal Fondry… and combined both raw sounds…. with the Metal heads… with the right balance it is great triggering and great sounding kit.
As stated earlier as well…. it seems by the teasers a drum kit pack for the Metal Fondry might be coming?

To the OP, I think the folks who need to know your request would be Platinum Samples.
They know. They read this forum š

I don’t think anyone was arguing with your point.

I have C&V as well .. the only pack I dont own from Toontrack’s Superior is Music City. Yes.. C&V is different from other packs (it s more focused.. less roomy..)… but again the intent of my post was not this X that… but having more options and different colors to choose from. Platinum does sound punchy .. focused and brings lots to the table. Andy Johns has a great DW Mardi Grass kit …. Paiste 2002s… Rudes… and Jim Scott has Steve Ferrone’s and Chad Smith kits… so again different colors….

It is a shame isn’t it? WhenĀ I downloaded their demo version a while ago realized this limitation. Really liked the interface and my Novation controller was spot on with it. Gladly though I found Reaper and for US$ 60 bucks… could not be any happier.

Just going further and in order to confirm: on FLorida Music Co. it states the whole line is available for download.. including the SDX packs and no box is required if one chooses the download no box option. I am interested in upgrading my Custom and Vintage… but located here in the Cayman Islands.. so not really interested in the boxed version (to get them here is a pain). So is it confirmed? The whole download of the upgrade is available?

AHhh … thanks Grandaddy. I Came late for the party at vdrums.com and the pictures were gone.
I liked the bigger bass drum and the new “fat” pads … always wanted a pad with bottom/top heads looks much cooler..if they wil have it in black it will be a go for me (time to upgrade my pd120s/pd100s) !! Probably theu just changed the color for the module as well … I do not care much about the module since I barely use its on-board sounds any longer .. changes noticed for the rack as well .. chrome and the way the toms are mounted…. anyways looking forward for those pads…
Thanks for sharing.

Full experience? Humm.. that might entail positional sensing for snare half hedge hits .. tom rim hits … three-way ride ….you are gonna need at least a td10 based kit (like the older v-session)… orĀ put together a kit around the td10 module – although it will allow tom hits only if used with rim switch rubber pads like pd7/pd8/pd9…. a TD8 will do as well since it offers positional sensing for snare .. tom hits with rim switch Ā rubber pads Ā (pd7/pd8/pd9).. and with a small workaround u can get three-zones out of a Cy12R/CY15R with it …
