Hi Rony, I have built some triggers from remo practice pads this way (the internal trigger was a bit different though). It was a long time ago. The tension was “correct” and the results not that bad. By reducing the diameter of your mesh head, it may be possible to get a tighter tension but to be honest, these heads have a tendency to get looser over time. As far as I remember, I tried various things with the remo pratice pads, like putting the whole piece of foam back into the pad, etc… (but always kept the home made mesh head). Then I switched to shells made of flexible woods or PVC pipe (far better! I still use them). I will attempt to find my old remo triggers in order to check the tension but cannot promise anything (they are somewhere under the roof, probably behind a lot of other stupid and heavy things ^^). All the best, P.

Many thanks Erik…
… and congrats on the release of EZKeys!
What an amazing songwriting tool – the workflow is so fast!
Best wishes to everyone in Umeå

Wow, many thanks for sharing this, Damian!
So impressive that I have spent a nice amount of time watching slow motion movies tonight!
Unless someone is interested by watching a knife splitting a banana at 5000 fps, here is another drums related one (snare+cymbal again):

Hi Michal,
Could you please tell me which input of your Trigger I/O is used to connect your snare?
Best regards.

From Alesis website:
“The Trigger|iO has a hi-hat control input that works with both continuous and switch-style hi-hat pedals”
This design works as a continuous pedal. It should work fine 😉

I like it!
I have been greatly surprised at least twice during the whole song.
Would love to hear Robert Smith singing at the end of this one.
Thanks for sharing, John!

Thank you Scott!
Some new videos should be released in the next future, but I will only post those featuring Toontrack products here.
Maybe this one (featuring EZdrummer Lite) may interest some curious people :

As you can see in this video, it’s possible to run EZdrummer on a very small PC 🙂
Of course, this video doesn’t demonstrate the whole potential of BloXpander!
Kind regards,

Sorry again for the delay…
LUKESK,
The 1mm neoprene sheet on top of your cymbal may work but it will be damaged (and inefficient) in no time.
Your best bet is rubber (type: PARA – approx. 45 shores).
Irish916,
A layer of bitumen tape on the back of your cymbal will work nicely (my 18″ chinese cymbal is dampened this way, actually).
FYI, I wrote something in the last issue of digitalDrummer magazine (april 2010) about cymbals dampening.
You can freely read this magazine at http://www.digitaldrummermag.com
Best regards.

I haven’t dismantled my nanoPad yet , but it is surely made of FSR.
IMHO, it won’t be easy to modify this controller in order to get an edrum module.
The following link gives some interesting information about FSR used as triggers :
