I am one of the few that fits into this category. I set up my own kits that I use only for playing and recording on a large e-drum setup with lots of additional user instruments. In this scenario I manually map in the DRUMS page so that every one of my user kits across multiple libraries has the same number of triggers and same MIDI mapping for each. That way I can easily move between my many user kits in various libraries without having to change any mapping presets and can have a single drum map in my DAW. Also the MIDI matches the physical trigger notes from my 2 x modules and edrumin10. Works well for me and I know that I cannot use any Toontrack MIDI grooves etc with these kits. cheers, Andrew

Hi – Request for SD4. There are some libraries where all of the characters don’t fit in the allocated area for the preset file names. I also have my own user kits and often the file names I give them don’t all show in the allocated area. This can cause difficulty if the unique information that differentiates is at the end of the file name – as it is hidden.

Can we have a larger “space” allocated for all of these ? There seems to be lots of “spare” space in the header area to enable this to occur.

Please see attached highlighted in yellow to show where I mean. thanks, Andrew

I’m what Jack calls a Winbox man and unfortunately he is largely correct. If you look below at my system it has taken me a while to get to a good position with low latency – and pretty much as Jack describes and with RME audio interface. I have recently “upgraded” to Windows 11 and to be honest this has been a step backwards for me for latency and audio quality (meaning pops and clicks). I am still optimising for audio but cannot get things as good as I had in W.1o.

Mark – do you have any specific tips re Windows 11 ? Cheers, Andrew

+1 but best to put into “Requests and feedback” or you could add to this

A formal request for the Toontrack development team to please look at the graphical representation of EZD3 and EZX drum pieces in SD3. The generic black toms and silver snares are a bit of a pain as I lose that quick visual reference to know I’ve got the correct kit loaded – especially in live e-kit situations. I often use EZD3 and EZX kit pieces in SD3 for certain musical situations. I also often use the “Kicks & Snare” EZX to tailor these drums and not being able to “see” the snare or kick in SD3 to know I’ve got the correct one is a bit frustrating – again especially in live situations. Thanks, Andrew

Follow what Mark says but also pay attention to your module routing as edrumin 4 doesn’t have many inputs and outputs if this is your host. Which “module” is the host ? I use edrumin 10 as it is the host and has both MIDI in (for older Yam module) and USB A Host in (for Newer Yam module) and then USB B goes into laptop. See attached screenshot of edrumin ins/outs. I have a similar large kit like you have and as Mark says you need to write down note numbers for each “module” and cannot have duplicates. I keep this all in a spreadsheet.
