OlofYou need to use the Toontrack Product Manager application to download and install the Avatar library. You did that in 2016 but haven’t done so recently.

You’d better contact support about this. The installer’s log file would be of interest, as well as what EZdrummer 3 says is the location of EZXs/MIDI in its Settings.

Everything looks okay here at our end and the auto-updating works for me. Maybe some firewall is interfering?
