First you select the cymbals you want to change. You do this in the main window displaying the drums ,or in the instrument menu, by SHIFT- or CTRL-clicking.

Then you go to the preset and its Select Parts menu. There you choose “Only Selected Instruments”.
(You probably also uncheck “Load Mixer” and “Load Macro Controls”.)

    Then you press Load Parts.

(Actually, you can make or change your drum selection while you have the Select Parts menu open.)

The manual can be found towards the end of the SD3 product page in the shop.

But the manual for SD3 is available before purchase, isn’t it?

Just wanted to pointed out that this can be done in SD3 already. Unlike in SD2 all drums can have their microphones individually assigned.

veleev, your problem is caused by a special handling we have to do to support Ableton Live. Unlike other VST hosts and counter to the VST standard it can suspend a plug during the rendering call. So when Ableton Live calls ‘suspend’ we perform a special manouver to avoid crashing and, as a side effect, that results in that call taking 1 second in the case where Ableton Live *does* follow the VST standard.

So, actually, while being insane it doesn’t actually use any CPU.

You can also MIDI map the Tail articulation and hit it with a NoteOn to mute the cymbal. This is unusual but is occasionally used by people who cannot use any of the two main alternatives. E-drummers with lesser gear, I should think.

I don’t know how the TD-12 works in this respect. I have an Akai MPK49 keyboard right now and it offers two ways of sending this information. One is to send just Program Change, i.e. a single number. The other is to do both Program Change and Bank Select at the same time, i.e. three numbers: ProgramChange, BankMSB and BankLSB. (EZ2 does not care
about the LSB.) I have another MIDI controller that sends Program Change and Bank Select separately and there is no choice of sending them at the same time.

I have 47 EZXs installed. To choose my 7th User Preset I have to send a Program Change of 6 (or 7, if that is how your controller handles the numbers). But before I do that I have to make sure that EZdrummer knows that I am using the user presets and I do that by sending a Bank Select of 47 or by selecting any user preset by hand. If I want to use that second method of the MPK49 then I have to make sure that I send the Bank Select 47 every time.

Perhaps your TD-12 works like my second option but always sets the Bank to 0.
