Thank you for the great info posted here. I made a variable switch with a 50k ohm pot as above and it works good. I Have a Roland TD-10 EXP and the HH Pedal is an FD-7. To say the least the pedal does not allow much control of the sound. i.e just a little foot movement is all that is needed to go from full closed to full open. Above you say to use a 50k ohm pot but I have read that the FD-7 is about 25K ohm. On the box I made with the 50k ohm pot just a small twist and you have changed the sound allot. Is there any way to make the pot less sensitive to allow more control of the sound? Say like putting in a 25k ohm pot. Also is the FD-8 a better pedal? I play double base and it nice to have control over the hi hat sound but I would like the box’s pot sensitivity spread out a bit more throughout the turn of the potentiometer. Is that possible maybe using a 10 turn potentiometer instead of this standard type?
