Hi Paul,
to the best of my knowledge there’s no time limit but I will ask my colleagues to be sure.
Hi John,
I asked the question on another this afternoon and someone has just said there is NO time limit (apparently). There was no such warning either in the receipt or download instructions PDF I received from SweetWater.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi,
I have ordered the two MONSTER MIDI packs (FILLS and ODD METERS), and also the CLASSIC EX and BLUES EX. The salesman Josh phoned me (UK) from the US to offer advice and pre-sales support. What a superb service indeed! Have a nice little collection now to be going on with for a year or two…
I wanted to ask please, I have consequently now downloaded FIVE out of SIX of the “MIDI PACK 6” (Activation Codes) I purchased recently. Do you know if there is a TIME LIMIT (eg 28 x days) for making/downloading your choices? Or does the download time remain open?
Ta,
Paul

In short: Yes.
The Odd fills are a nice companion to any odd meter MIDI you have.

Hello,
In ‘My Products’ (in ‘My Account’) it states below my four EX’s ‘UPDATE AVAILABLE’!
Do I click on ‘UPDATE AVAILABLE’ to update the EX software? Or is this optional? I think there is also the same message for ‘EZD2’.
I have downloaded the software for the four ‘EX’s’ but as yet have not actually installed them (they are still sitting in ‘My Downloads’ folder). I would guess I need to install them BEFORE I clicked on any UPDATE messages?
Thank you.
Paul

Hi,
I hope it’s ok the quote ToonTracks reply here :-
No one MIDI pack is required to purchase other MIDI from the same product variation.
Each Monster MIDI library is focused on one specific type of metal drum play style.
The different Monster MIDI packs can be used together with user created MIDI, other Toontrack MIDI, third party MIDI, or whatever you want.
Though I do not understand their answer because (with all due respect) grammatically, it does not (to me at least) make much sense!? And the implications are that they (Monster) are all of Heavy Metal genre.
Cheers,
Paul

I obviously must have explained my question ok in order for you to be able to offer me such a decisive answer.
Because the ‘MIDI PACK 6′ was purchased from SweetWater, there version is that were you can choose from ANY six MIDI PACK’s (from the ToonTracks’ webshop). Whereas on the ToonTracks site, the contents of the ‘MIDI PACK 6’ are fixed (which is fair enough).
Anyway, do you think that the MONSTER FILL’s and METER’s packs will SOUND ok on ANY (drum) KIT (ie. I have Jazz, FunkMaster, Latin, Rock/Pop [freebie], and Electronic)? Perhaps only the LATTER might sound somewhat strange!?
Best,
Paul

Hi again,
I wanted to ask, with regards to the ToonTracks MONSTER MIDI ODD METERS, is this specifically designed to run alongside MONSTER MIDI ODD FILLS? In other words, are the (MONSTER MIDI) FILLS designed to match/link patterns contained in the MONSTER ODD METERS? Therefore, it would be wise to (only) purchase them together? Otherwise, you might be stuck with a MIDI PACK of FILL’s which you can’t really use unless you have odd-time-signature patterns to match them! I think you know what I mean here (ie. you would not have an ’11/8′ drum fill in a ‘4/4’ song, and similarly, you would not have a ‘3/4’ drum fill in a ‘5/4’ song!).
Cheers,
Paul

Thank you gseshleman,
Well I got there in the end! lol And I appreciate all of your time and advice. You have been extremely helpful here.
Well, I have 6 x MIDI packs to play with but I will check out your recommendations down the line at some point.
I am so pleased I chose EZD2 instead of GA4 or JamSticks.
I think I saw some TUTORIALS for ToonTracks (on Groove3), but I think they were for SUPERIOR rather than EZ.

Hi,
After much deliberation and communication with both ToonTracks and SweetWater Music, I have decided to purchase the following :-
JAZZ, ELECTRONIC, LATIN and FUNK MASTER EX’s @ $39.99 each.
SONGWRITERS DRUM PACK COLLECTION @ $99.99
ESSENTIAL DRUMS MIDI PACK COLLECTION 6 @ $99.99
SweetWater (as per recommended by ToonTracks) were totally EXCELLENT and (via Skype) they talked me thru and checked the whole order to make sure I was completely happy and confident. I will definitely use SweetWater again in the future.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi,
The eBay shop sent me a non-DVD copy of EzD2, and no Promo-Code either for the Pop/Rock kit! I double-checked with them the details before making the purchase. So now I might have to open a ‘dispute’ because I paid them the money about 10 x days ago!
Paul
UPDATE :- The seller thought that Ez2D was a DVD until I reported the concern. The store spoke to ToonTracks who informed them that it has never been available as a hard copy (just a box with a ‘product code). And the Pop/Rock kit freebie is downloaded via the website once you have activated Ez2D.
I just spoke to seller who offered me a refund (but I need to check with eBay in case I have to pay shipping costs to return the item (empty box!). And then in turn purchase/download directly from the ToonTracks Shop. Not sure what the best decision to make is though? If I had known the eBay product was not a hard-copy, then I would have simply purchased the download version from ‘TT’ two weeks ago!
Cheers,
Paul

Cheers, ok so I can’t view it at the moment as my EZ2D software won’t be arriving until early next week.
I thought the MIDI packs were also in the sale but I think they are still 25 Euros each? I seem to remember hearing/reading somewhere that they were currently reduced to 19 Euros?

Hi gseshleman,
Is this “Show Web Shop MIDI” only accessible (from) if you have (open) one of the EZ2D packages, because I can not find this anywhere on the general website? I think this is the case?
Unless I am going blind! lol

Hi gseshleman,
I am much more of a ‘player’ than a ‘computer musician’. I have played professionally since around 1988 and used to program drum machines, sequencers, Korg M1 etc. But I find the VST method quite different and often somewhat daunting!
I just looked at the ‘Song Writing’ packs and I think they are MIDI DATA of SONG FORM and STRUCTURES (verse/chorus/intro etc)?
With the MIDI BUNDLES, there are 2/3 STYLES which I would never use contained in each package, and so the current stock are not ones which I would purchase at present.
What I meant regarding a breakdown of the material included on the EDX’s, was that (for instance) on the “POP/ROCK” EX, does it have (and is there a list of) ‘patterns’ in the way of :-
Basic Pop – #1
Basic Pop – #2
Shuffle Pop – #1
Shuffle Pop – #2
Heavy 8’s – #1
Heavy 8’s – #2
Heavy 8’s – #3
etc…………………….
If you know what mean!?
Cheers,
Paul

Hi,
Mmm, yes. I can see your point. So do you think the EZX’s are best for me considering I will be using EZD2 as a stand-alone?
If you get an “extensive collection of MIDI library” with the EZX’s, then where please does it list each style/loop/pattern (call it what you will)?
I notice that you have some other EZ products. What is your main instrument please? Are u a drummer?
