    Thanks ZE.

One thing I’ve noticed is how different the same snare can sound in amongst the different parts of the song, where different parts etc are getting played, so EQ is changing etc.

Have you tried copying your vocal track, compressing each vocal track, and putting a short reverb on one and a long reverb on the other yet?

I’ve done a little of that changing EQ for different song parts.  Sometimes one setting just doesn’t work for the whole song.

No, I haven’t tired that yet as I haven’t done many vocals.  I’m am working on some new songs with vocals so I will definitely give that technique a try.  Thanks for the tip. I think I need to get a decent Tube mic-preamp for vocals as well.

Is the panning on the guitars a little different in the beginning? I think both versions sound good. It’s just a good song. Really like the vocals and the drums sound really good in both mixes Not to over the top for me.

    ZeroEmpire,

Thank you for the review! Now your tune: the guitar riffs are cool! Do you use a Whammy pedal, or how did you do the lead guitar? The lead guitar parts are impressive, and the drums are nice too. What state or country are you from?

    No problem mate,  your welcome.

Yes, that’s a whammy pedal on the main guitar melody. Well….a whammy pedal sim. I used Guitar Rig 5 for the Guitars on this. EZ drummer is a huge help in getting good drum sounds. Thank you for checking it out. Much appreciated.

I am in the US. North Carolina.

I think you’ve got a pretty cool song here.  I hear a little 80’s vibe (in a good way). Mainly in the synth and vocals. The bass line has a good groove and the vocal melody fits nicely. The short breaks are good and the whole song just works for me.

Yep, this is good.  I could listen to this a lot. Nice job on the whole mix, especially the vocals. What effects did you use on the vox?

Really good feel to this track. everything works together well from the laid back drum beat, thumping bassline, gentle guitars and of course the very lyrics.

    It’s really good!

Wow! This sounds really good. The drums sound great! I especially like the snare, it’s got a nice space to it. Guitar and Bass sound really nice too. Cool bass fill at 2:58. Just enough to add something interesting without overdoing it. What did you use for the guitars?

I think you vocals are fine actually they fit the song very nicely.  They are nice and full and it sounds like you sing this without much effort (in a good way). The verse vocal melody is really good. What is your vocal processing chain? If you don’t mind me asking?

Nice job on the whole track. You even found a a spot for some cowbell, sweet.  It’s a really good song.  The organ intro is a nice contrast to the rest of the song.

With the Artist version  you will have to purchase the 3rd party VST add on.  It should work then.

My advice would to go ahead and upgrade to the professional version. Completely worth it IMO.  I use EZ Drummer 2 a lot with Studio 3.5 Pro and it works seamlessly. Watch for sales as they have discounts available from time to time.

    Really  nice work,

Man from Mars – Very good song!

I really like the vocal sound during the chorus and the lead guitar sound is awesome (tone & playing).  I like how it gently fades outs and lingers a bit at the end of the first solo.  Is this real mic’d up amps or amp sims? It all sounds top notch.  Would you mind sharing some tips on how you get such a nice polished sound on the vocals and such?

Long Way – I like this right from the start. Really diggin’ the rhythm guitar sound and groove. Nice roomy sound.  Again, the vocals sound professional.  Excellent guitar solo. What’s your recording rig?

Sharing your Love – Definitely has a bit of an 80’s feel to it, but it also has some more progressive parts in there, a little Rush influence maybe. Lots of different influences going here actually. Like the bluesy breakdown in the middle section. Damn! Killer synth lead towards the end. This has a lot going on. I can dig it.

Underdark – As good as all the other tracks are I think this one might be my favorite of the 4. I like the dark vibe, the contrast of the orchestral instruments with the electric guitars, and the slowly building dynamics. Only wish it was longer, felt like it could keep going to me. Really nice!

    Torbjorn,

Thanks for listening,  This was the first song I did using EZ Drummer 2.

Yea I probably could have spent a little more time dialing in and adapting the drums to the guitars. I more or less built the drum track first and then proceeded to try and adapt the guitars to the drumtrack with this one.

I agree vocals could definitely  be added to this track. I’m without singer atm though.

I wish I had started using EZ Drummer sooner, as you mentioned it does have a lot of nice features and I’m really enjoying it.

I not all that familiar with this genre but I would have to agree with Torbjom  on wanting a little more low end and more snare. Would be nice to have the guitars panned a little wider too.  Just my personal preference of course.

The guitar playing is pretty insane though. Mad riffing skills and nice tone as well.

    Enjoyed it!

    Hey man,

I like your song a lot! Really digging the big fuzzy guitar sound. Reminds of some old Black Sabbath.  Great dirty Bass sound as well, but it kind of gets drowned out by the guitars. I wonder if you could cut some low end off the guitars to make the Bass & Drums stand out a bit more when everything is churning along.

Really nice heavy groove at the end. Love the way it drags. Overall really cool tune. Do you mind sharing your Guitar and Bass setup on this track.
