Thanks Scott, I now see what they did in providing it as a download again. There was no explanation.
Update:
A special offer for an additional 20% off pushed me off the fence. I upgraded.
Of course the extra EZX pack included was one I already had though. So though I hate to complain, I still feel ToonTracks dropped the ball on this whole deal.
We’ll see how I feel about it after using it a while.
I had this problem as well and though it may not help, I can tell you that:
A-This isn’t really directly Toontracks fault, the verified by Visa application is a bank service.
B- I actually appreciate the extra measure of security, as my card account has been defrauded several times after online transactions.
But that said, the Verified by Visa application is flawed, and doesnt work smoothly and also, obviously it would be in merchants best interest to work with Visa to get it sorted out and working better.
The first step, is registering with Visa to use the app. In my case the primary difficulty was that the card was assigned to a joint account, and I had to use the exact, correct info to register and use the security app. This is where some method of smoothing out any issues would be very helpful. This is where Visa needs to make some changes.
Once I got that fixed, its a breeze. Just enter a password and the account is verified. Like I said, I appreciate that there is an extra layer of security. It protects the merchant and me.
And for what its worth, PayPal is not very secure. One of the problems I had was a bass boat motor someone purchased on my account, via PayPal. I have never used it since and wont.
Sorry to hear of the trouble you all are having, but thank goodness for extra security so I can comfortably shop online.
Ray, that offer is for new customers, and sadly, excludes existing customers who opt to upgrade.
That is the subject being commented on in this thread. Many of us read the ad with the same thought.
And I am not Jim, but will offer my opinion on the Nashville EZX. I would rate it as “good” with one caveat.
If you want project ready drum tracks that are what I would say are “good enough” its a good expansion for you. If however, you are the kind of producer who likes to finely taylor your drum sounds to fit your projects, you may find as I did, that the samples are pretty heavily processed with what I find is often excessive amounts of reverb. I prefer working with somewhat drier drums to my tastes. Thats not to say they arent useable, just something you may want to be aware of.
And I’ll agree with all of Jim’s points. Especially the need for some improved descriptions. Many of the EZX and MIDI expansion descriptions are vague as to what exactly is included IMO.
Well, I cant be too full of sour grapes, especially after catching a couple very generous Toontrack flash sales last week.
But as I wrote previously, even at the upgrade offer price, its a little hard for some to justify. And then seeing the new customer offers it really doesn’t quite sit well.
The first question is why end the upgrade pricing offer at all? That seems unusual to me.
And as I said before, if the offer of one expansion pack of our choice, or a couple midi expansion packs were thrown into the offer, similar to the new customer offers, I suspect a number of existing customers “on the fence” about upgrading, like myself……
It would push me off the fence, and it seems like the “right thing to do” in my opinion.
Show some love for your existing customer base and do it right.
Yes, have to agree.
The upgrade has been tempting. The threat of the loss of the upgrade pricing has been noticed.
But lets face it, for those of us happy with EZD 1, this upgrade is pretty pricey.
The offer appears to “throw us a bone” so to speak. Put me on the fence and had me reconsidering. Might have sprung for the upgrade with the added expansion thrown in.
Nope. Fail. Offer is misleading.
And by the way, on another topic, for what its worth…….
Not everybody is into metal. Programs and promotions seem to be stuck on that. Kind of getting old and cliche.

Do you get a free expansion pack if you upgrade to EZdrummer 2? I got an email that really was not clear and when I add the expansion pack it wants to charge me.
I have the same question. Advertising isnt clear. “Included with regular purchase” and “no exclusions” should mean included with upgrade I think?
Thanks for your reply John, much appreciated.
I guess if I ask the same question that has been basically asked again and again, I should expect the same answer too.
Clarification, and an admission. I guess I should have thought to post in a more appropriate area of the forum.
I am using EZD, and some EXP packs, and I am a big fan. But I have to point out that for us newer and inexperienced users, the description of some of the various components and products leaves a little to be desired.
It is NOT clear what the ezplayer/ezplayer pro )or whatever), solo, and such products are and how they fit together in use, and the same goes for many of the exp pack formats. It takes a lot of research to get a grasp on much of it and at least for me, some of it is a little fuzzy.
I point this out, not as a complaint, but a suggestion for improvement of the presentation and possibly/hopefully for increased sales on your part.
As further evidience I present the fact that the same. or similar questions have come up with regular frequency in various areas of these forums, which I have largely read going back over several years of content while trying to gather all the knowledge I can find.
I understand there are many ways to use the products and the TT team has made great efforts to accommodate as many possible users as they can. Again much appreciated. But there may be room for improvement on some of the product presentation/descriptions for the inexperienced.
Thanks to all, great stuff!
