That worked! Thanks John. I am very happy to have those plugins up and working again. Turned-out to be pretty simple in the end but I was ready to give up so thanks again.
The only things is, the size of the font on the plugins is very small. To say size 1 font would exaggerate how large it is. 🙂 Any idea how I might be able to make it a bit bigger? It works and I can work it but…a little larger would be nice.
Thanks John. I can confirm the stand alone application EZKeys64.exe works fine.
Are you suggesting I should delete the Toontrack files I have shown you and reinstall them?
I cannot remember why the files are in the location they are, but they have been working fine until now.
Thank you John for your reply. You have given me some hope. I did copy rather than move so I deleted that file since your message. It was a case of ‘when nothing is working try something else.’
I can confirm EzKeys and Superior Drummer 1 are both working within my older Cubase 9. I have run the Toontrack Solo 64 and the drums worked fine but I couldn’t see the Ezkeys within that tool to test it.
I have searched for ezkeys.dll as requested and there is only one file in the c drive. I have included the other Toontrack files in this location. Please see the photo for full location information.
Thank you Olaf for your reply.
I am using Windows, you are correct. I had read somewhere that Windows was better with Cubase 12 to run Toontrack products but I have not seen enough to show me how or finding a way to do so.
I tried to to use existing paths to access Toontrack products. I tried creating paths to get directly to Toontrack products. But without success.
I found that I did not seem to have a VST2 folder in my C drive anymore so I create one and put the EzKeys in there (see picture) then go the plugin manager to search but all of these options did not work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, are Ezykays and Superior Drummer 1 both VST2 products?
That was a few months ago now, are we still unable to use EZKeys in Cubase 12?
I hope I am wrong but, after many years of enjoying Toontrack products (and encouraging others to purchase them) I feel my time with Toontrack is coming to an end. I have had to upgrade to Cubase 12 and now I can’t use Superior Drummer 1 and any EZ Keys plugins. The Euro 165 for EZDrummer or Euro 375 for SD3 is just so much money. I really regret this as I have been using Toontrack in almost every piece of music I make.
I agree with a lot of the sentiment here. I want to upgrade to Cubase 12 but I am nervous about losing plugins (mainly Toontrack) that I use regularly. It may be old-school thinking, but if I buy something I want it to last as long as possible – preferably a life time. I have not spent a lot compared to others and I am still running older versions of things such as Sup. D 1 and Cubase 9 Artist. If they work I do not want to upgrade for small benefits at the risk of losing tools that I like. It seems to be a mentality of many tech companies that prevails today. My mobile phone is only five years old but some apps don’t load on it anymore so I am encouraged to buy another phone. Tech companies change the apps so devices don’t work. I think this is by design to get people to spend more. The more tech companies conduct themselves like this the less likely I am to trust them and purchase their products.
While on a whinge, it is disappointing that I need to have certain products to read certain forums at Toontrack. If I want to see the good and bad of these plugins before buying them I want to read the forums. It discourages me from purchasing the product. Is there something to hide? Ongoing problems?
that site is still good all these years later. not just metal drums reggae funk etc thanks Per
thanks for having a listen to my music. Only two are actually remixes, the others may use some samples but are original compositions. I am glad u mentioned the two that you did. Both were done a few years ago and I feel I know more about the process of music production now but the mistakes are part of a more natural sound I think. I like Dirty Dub too, although it has had very few listens.
You may be right that Reggae is not an easy ‘go to’ musical style for Midi packs. I think the chops demonstrated could be a good part of a Hammond B3 organ pack. Similar to what they have done on other organ EzKeys.
Hit me up for a collab if you want sometime 🙂
Hi nfrhtp,
I was a bit excited to see the new Reggae EZkeys MIDI pack but after listening to the demo I was a bit underwhelmed. I am not a jazz piano player by any means but I can lay out a basic skank reggae piano line. I would have liked to have heard some bubble chops as part of it for starters. Also, I am not sure what exactly it is…but it sounded kind of super clean and tight rather than a little laid back, slack and groovy. Perhaps I am being too harsh on it and one day I might give it a go.
I want to try out the Reggae EZX at some stage too. I am guessing there isnt any slow 80bpm beats but still might be good. The demo video has a good sound.
I am no Robbie Shakespeare but I know how hard it is to find some decent reggae styled basslines. I am also open to collaborating with strangers online to make music. If you need some bass on a track, send me a message via Soundcloud and I’ll have a listen and go if I can get into a track.
I played bass and keyboards on the 1st remix track of this playlist of my music. The drums are mostly from Toontrack’s Superior Drummer2.
