Similar results to playing regular drum grooves with Latin Percussion EZX or Latin Cuban Percussion EZX – completely not what was being asked here.
hey Toontrack, still no progress with releasing EZDrummer as iOS app? I’m using Cubasis more often and need decent drums. I’m also using my V-drums with my iPad more often now but can’t find a quality app. You want my cash or not?
Hi Damien, would you know it? I’m contemplating here, unsure if I want to buy this pack yet. Is it really so raw?
Hey Guys. Thanks so much. Would anyone know if he actually added compression to these samples?
Toontrack advertise this SDX as “acoustic”. What’s so acoustic about this one comparing to other expansions? Would this SDX compliment acoustic music more than the other SDXes for any specific reason? Why would I want to buy it if I’m into acoustic music and have lots of previously released expansions? Thanks in advance guys.
Yes, many users are eagerly awaiting the “Install/Update ALL/tick to choose” function in Product Manager. It would greatly streamline the updating process and make managing multiple products much easier.
We know that Toontrack knows how needed this feature is. We’re patiently waiting…
Yeah, the greatest disappointment of all Toontrack times is that they didn’t release ANY additional MIDI packs for this library. The few tracks that come with the library (I think there are only two?) are obviously just something to preview how the library sounds, rather than to use it for production.
My workarouds so far:
1. Used some MIDI from Action MIDI packs (I also have Action EZX), modified a bit, remapped, it worked alright.
2. Designed my own grooves using Groove Shaper from Pitch Innovations.
3. Have been creative and played it all by myself from scratch directly in DAW’s track.
I would love to see some MIDI packs released specifically for the Orchestral Percussion library. I know they would give me additional inspiration, and I would probably use this library more often.
Right-click on the folder, click the “Security” tab, then click “Edit” and modify it by additionally ticking “Modify” or “Full Control” for Users. You can also add your user account and set the permissions accordingly. It is important for the folder to allow your account to write to it.
Now, how this happened suddenly that the user account didn’t have the right permissions could be due to many reasons. It could be caused by Windows updates, antivirus software, or even updates from Toontrack modifying security permissions. Something clearly modified it.

Thanked by: Billy 86, Shootie and rixaI have recently received a bunch of advertisements for sd3 on social media. It leads me to believe that maybe it’s their last push on the product before SD4 is released. Just a tin foil hat theory.
My feeling exactly. I’ve been literally spammed by SD3 adverts, even though I wasn’t searching for anything SD-related. I think they’re still finalising recording and building the interface and features – just my gut feeling. I hope the new drum kits will not be too swollen because I’m running out of space on my SSDs.
Upright is the obvious choice, but Session Player also has a bit of that bluesy taste too—it sounds a bit like a thick fishing line stretched on a plank.
Americana lacks slap articulations, but other than that, it’s a leading all-rounder.
I’m currently contemplating adding Session Player and Americana for country, soft rock, ballad, and acoustic types of music. I’ve listened to hours of comparisons of their DI outputs, and I’ve narrowed my choice down to these two. I already have Upright, Gospel, Fretless, and Acoustic. By the way, the DI output of Acoustic sounds interesting too, but for intense blues tunes I would go for something less “boxy”/standard electric bass.
Personally I would not choose The Sixties or Classic Rock. I also eliminated Hard Rock from my list. If I was to choose one for blues I would go for Session Player. But that’s very subjective, that’s how I hear it.
Remember, you can buy three for the price of two.

Thanked by: Andi SaitenhiebI actually hope they won’t release separate software for which we would need to pay again lol. I would rather count on the future development of EZbass to reach a stage where it is “truly superior” compared to the competition.
Please tell me you wrote that on the 1st of April… I gave up MODO Bass (which also obviously has ALL the notes) to start using EZbass, and I have some projects I will be working on that require notes played on upper frets 🙁
Toontrack, please start recording all new EBX expansions with ALL the notes and allow the choice of strings…
You can load EZbass as VST in DAW, write a track in the Grid Editor and then drop it to your DAW’s MIDI track, then export that track to a MIDI file, and finally load that MIDI file to the other instance of EZbass? I do it without any issues. You can use third party MIDI files in EZbass, means you can export and import thanks to “drag and drop” feature of EZbass and any DAW that supports MIDI tracks. Is this what you’re after?
The long answer is YES. I tried it and it works ok. I use Midi Guitar 2 from Jam Origin (https://www.jamorigin.com/) to translate my guitar/bass input into MIDI notes in realtime and I use MIDI Guitar 2 as MIDI input in EZbass. So you need a third party software to convert your audio input to MIDI notes, that’s it.
Others do it too:
