I think MIDI mapping could be a lot easier if each played note mapped to a kit-piece / E-kit auto-select the mapped kit-piece in SD3 so when editing velocities e.t.c you’re always editing the correct one.. i think SD2 has this feature and it’s very convenient

Did you know that the items in the Analyzer in MIDI in/E-drum settings are clickable? Play a note on your kit and select the corresponding item in the analyzer, then you can edit the note.

Hmm.. i meant it would be nice if “MIDI mapping overview” scrolls to the selected / tied kit item so it’s always in focus.. Hit the snare and the Snare is highlighted in the list and put in focus for tweaking. did not know the stuff in the analyzer was clickable but even so i don’t find that to be particularly more useful than using the sidebar for these operations which to me is much faster and more intuitive

Secondly MIDI Learn doesn’t seem to work properly as i can’t select for example “Tom 2” (in SD3) and hit the tom on my E-kit.. it doesn’t re-map the note number / kitpiece in SD3.. I’m using a preset-note layout for 2Box kit but i have an expanded kit so notenumbers doesn’t match.

Hit Tom 2 on your kit and then select the corresponding item in the Analyser (MIDI in/E-drum settings), then set the articulation in Edit MIDI Mapping and Response to Tom 2.

It’s no biggie as i just edit the template and save different templates to different kit’s depending on if i want floortom 1 or Tom 2 triggered..

But i meant using the sidebar “MIDI mapping tab” selecting Tom 2 in the GUI, clicking “learn” in the sidebar tab and hitting Tom 2 on the kit does nothing.. Every other kitpiece can be learned this way, but not Tom 2.. This note is for some reason tied to Floortom 1 per default and this doesn’t change if it’s not edited manually.. and when doing so i ran into another peculiar thing that led me to believe the Drumbrain was broken… Midi note “45” ( the converted note – not the note sent from the drumbrain) disappeared..

    Hi guys
I don’t know if this is a good place to add further questions in regarding mapping but, ill remove this and created a new topic in case it’s required.

I think MIDI mapping could be a lot easier if each played note mapped to a kit-piece / E-kit auto-select the mapped kit-piece in SD3 so when editing velocities e.t.c you’re always editing the correct one.. i think SD2 has this feature and it’s very convenient

Secondly MIDI Learn doesn’t seem to work properly when using it from the sidebar menu..

EDIT: Read in “Feature Requests & feedback” that mapping works differently depending on in where it’s used? and that was confusing at first.. Though the above problem seems to persist.. can’t remap from the sidebar menu, especially Tom’s seem to want to stick regardless..

EDIT2: Found where to save the new edited midimapping

    Cheers

    Ok thanks.
Would you be so kind to point me in that direction, i don’t find it anywhere on those pages.

    Hello again.
Yes i’m already aware about the 2-click operation but when you have your e-kit slightly off where you have the computer and also have several expansions you want to try to different songs it easily ends up a mere 20-or more-click operations.. i mean the whole problem would have been solved if one could overwrite the default MIDI-mapping that is loaded with the plug.. but if that is incorporated in the code it’s a bit harder..

But is it so complicated to change this in the code?

    Hello again.
I just rescently found out that the MIDI-mapping actually worked, but can’t confirm if it were the Combined preset  for each kit i created or what.
But i wan’t to know if i could save this Midi-mapping as a “default” so i don’t need to assign it every time i load superior or when i switch Expansions?

    Hello John.
    Thanks for the fast answer.
Yes i tried to do that Midi-thing but i couldn’t get it to work with my 2box kit.. i guess i tried to make it default but it just didn’t do anything.. and i had to re-learn the hihat cc and everything too.. but i’ll try it tomorrow again to see if i missed anything.. Thanks anyway.

I will certainly make a request for this, because i get annoyed if the drums doens’t sound right while tracking.. i can’t concentrate 😀
