Thanks for the info.
I also use the VH11 but with my TD12.
I’m still having trouble getting that ‘tight’ closed sound so I will try this however, I’ve noticed since the most recent SD3 update that I’m able to get a better response from the slider settings for the HiHat in SD3. I picked ‘more closed’ which did not work at all before but seems to be working now, however, still can’t get the really tight closed edge sound . What I’m doing if I want that tight sound is just to use the tight tip in the centre of the HiHat which is fine, I just have to change my technique a bit

I also find SD3 very quiet with my Roland TD12, however, when they are played with SDX’s & EZX’s it is loud/perfect.
So it’s just seems SD3 & it’s kits are very low for some odd reason. I have to crank everything up a lot.
Would be nice to get better volume from SD3.

SD2 used to work perfect with my Roland VH11 hi-hat however can’t say the same for SD3 unfortunately.
I read through this thread and tried all of the above suggestions but unfortunately nothing worked and the sliders referred to for hi hat settings to make tighter or more open honestly seem to do nothing at all in SD3.
The only thing I tried was tweaking my actual VH11 Hi-hat settings through my TD 12 module. Helped a bit but in the end the only way I could get my VH11 to make the closed tip, edge sounds was to change my module setting to VH12, even though I have a VH11.
Would Toontrack be able to work on the hi-hat settings for edrums/Vdrums in SD3 to be as awesome as they were in SD2?
Thanks
