    Hi,

I would first create 1 Stereo Instrument Track for the plug-in itself and the first Stereo output (1+2) of the plug-in. Next I would create as many Aux Tracks as you need separate outputs; as this would vary with library kit, there’s no right or wrong.
The advantage with using Pro Tools is that even though the plug-in has got 16 Stereo outputs, you can split them if you wish to have some instrument microphones as Mono in the PT Mixer but I digress, that’s not the first thing to worry about.

Next step would be checking that you get MIDI in to the plug-in in Pro Tools and depending on PT version, you may have to record-arm the Instrument Track to hear and see MIDI reaching the plug-in. When that works, you click the small “hamburger” menu in the lower right corner of the SD3 plug-in to open the MIDI In/E-drums Settings.
Click the ‘Use Preset’ button to enable presets and scroll to find your kit’s module preset. When selected, your kit (at least most of it) should map correctly.

I attach a Pro Tools Session template I made a few years ago, it should give you an idea of the above setup.

    BR,
    John

    Hi,

I would say both yes and no😉

Once EZmix3 has analysed your track and you try out and tweak the different presets, you should be in the ballpark for the preset’s genre references. That said, it’s always good practice with reference checking if you need to tweak something.
