Thanks for posting this. I was also having problems placing files in this folder, but now I have it working like you.
I posted earlier about exporting to a folder I created myself in another location, and I do feel this is a good way to create files that I can give a unique name
Open the tab “Track”. Pick “export track as MIDI file…then save the file to a folder you create.
