    Define “outro”…

A lot of times you have a small fill and some hit (BD + crash) at the end. A lot of ways to end a song. I haven’t had problems finding or munging together what I need usually.

    Example please.

Let me just follow this up by saying that I’m an avid and loyal user of EZKeys. Best thing for non-keyboard playing composers since Band In A Box and sliced loops.

Just having some fun at your, wait “mine too”, expense.

And an absence of James Brown funky drummer variations in the MIDI would be a relief as well. In fact if done right the Mid would be the biggest attraction for me

I can’t disagree with anything up to this point. In plain English though, you’re then saying that if no James Brown midi were present it would make you want to buy some TT library, though not specific. I’m a little lost, because there is a lot of those [actual] drummers’ playing in the Funkmasters library, and I don’t think that’s what you really meant anyway.

You can certainly dial back the room sound in the mixer. Have you tried that?

In Superior, you can also taper back the ring of the drum by attenuating the release a bit, giving you a tighter sound.

I would love this as well. Only I think the Ez bass would be far ahead of EZ piano because single notes
are easier to edit than complete chord phrases.

Which is why I think that an EZBass is actually not as necessary as EZKeys. It’s better to create and edit your own bass lines. You could say the same thing about keys and drums, but it’s very possible to get realistic bass lines by quickly editing a single line, where it is extremely long and tedious to do so for keyboard and drum parts.

Far be it from me to tell you what you need though. Just my 2 cents.

I predict that this will be the next EZKeys add-on.

Little of the current MIDI will sound right with it though. Kind of like little of the current MIDI is a great match for the clav add-on. Clav and organ playing can have some similarities in the funk genre. Maybe some room for another funk MIDI pack there.

Now the next thing simply has to be a B3. I can’t imagine they will sample a harpsicord or some other ridiculous keyboard instrument.

Alternatively give me a midi output from EZKeys to drive any synth/sampler. Yes, that would bypass the compulsary Toontrack instruments and then we might not buy the Rhodes from them etc. So it will never happen. I could, of course, just use the chord track in Cubase or Rapidcomposer, but none of these does such a good job of interpreting and transposing midi tracks as EZKeys does.

Hmmm…with the recent releaese of the funk MIDI, I’m longing for a Hohner Clavinet. Might work with a B3 as well.

My prediction rate for EZKeys remains at 100% !

OK, give EZKeys a MIDI bassline and put in new chords. Try it yourself.

It’s not easy to post a screenshot here, no attachments. Also, you’d only be able to see one folder branch at a time in a single screenshot.

As I said, there are 25 6/8 MIDI fills. They’re broken up in 3 categories – Short fills with lead-ins, Long fills with lead-ins, and Fills only.

They are in a single song called “Alonely” at 112 BPM.

Analyzing a solo bass line out of context and determining chords is not as straightforward as analyzing a piano part and determining chords. There is this immediate difference. Also, bass lines tend to lead into the next chord melodically.

There are some possibilities, but there is no direct translation of the EZKeys engine to an EZBass engine.

You can already try this for yourself. Import any MIDI bass line that you like into EZ Keys, see how it analyzes what’s there, then tweak the chords, and see what happens.

If you have Basic Rock MIDI, it’s essentially fills for the same exact set of songs. The organizational structure in the groove browser is exactly the same.

514 midi files in this library to be exact. There are 25 midi files in the 6/8 folder.

    Clavinet or B3?

Both are substantially different styles than Piano/Electric Piano playing.

Clavinet would be a little easier to emulate. Organ covers a wide range.

    I can’t predict.
