Duly noted! Any producer in particular you’d like us to work with?

Actually, it was all over the internet…..I’m sorry, I find your blaming everything on Toontrack to be unreasonable and untrue.
Why would he have researched upgrade paths prior to release when his aim was to purchase ED2. Vendor did him a solid, WTF, if you like that 90’s Counting Crows/Hootie/Spin Doctors drum sound (barf).
You admit forum got buggy, even appearing in Tims other thread about forum access. The guys clicking on midi packs and triggering sound files, and your getting all condescending “But if that isn’t obvious…. yes, all drum sample libraries have included midi grooves.”. “But in short, it’s user error on your part somewhere, not a dereliction of duty on Toontrack’s part.” after readily admitting you don’t view through a PC browser and the site has teething issues. Such an authoritive statement spoken like a true Zealot. (welcome to the site Timmy)
The site looks like its been put together by school kids, so I won’t say if the FAQ is enough for a noob to get by. Should he have read it more yes, would he have been able to get queries answered on the forum, probably not, should you save the lap dog attitude for a 3rd party site like gearwhores, absolutely.
So is this host DAW dependent? Seems like people have been bitching about screen size forever. With the standard response being “can’t be done in an update”, seemed like an opportune time to appease the masses.

Thanks Man. I checked them out and they do appear a bit more promising. Can I assume if the product does not list EZDrummer it will not work in EZD2? Some list it and other do not.
Toontrack have a programme called EzPlayer that can transpose midi from all the major formats to Ezdrummer/Superior compatible files. I use it regularly to convert performances for a guitarist I know who uses addictive drums. All though I’m pretty sure hell make the jump to EZD2.
In my user area under producer presets, the C&V Pittman 2, and NY 2 Allen images are incorrect. Just thought I’d let you know.
Also, is the whole site a work in progress. Can’t see where I can edit forum signatures etc.
Check out Platinum Samples site for midi. “Real Jazz”, “Real Blues”, and the Steve Ferrone, and Stanton Moore artist packs might be what your looking for.
Toontrack have “Blues” and “Jazz” midi available as well, just read the descriptions carefully as some are the same as included in EZX expansions ( i.e.: “Blues” is unique midi, whilst “The Blues EZX” is the same as the one included with the expansion of the same name). Their are audio examples of the midi, but they can’t really cover all that the pack contains.
BRUSHES are in short supply, Roots, Nashville, Jazz midi and Jazz EZX (not available as standalone) are the only ones I’m aware of. But are they of any use? Brush technique relies a lot on interpretation of the music, and pretty hard to package up for universal use.
Ok, the parents have had enough time to admire the school kids multimedia assignment. Kudos to Toontrack for contributing to Umea high school arts program, but when I wake up tomorrow I want to see the one you commissioned from the pros.
Forgot MIDI conversion. I’m running Logic 9 on 2010 Mac mini, core2duo 2.66, Focusrite saffire 56 Firewire interface, TD15 over USB. I record SD drums, bass and guitars together. Bass/Guitars in Amplitube 3 (eco mode), maybe some waves or ezmix plugs on master bus/drum channels. FW driver set to lowest latency, logic at 256 sample buffer, latency imperceptible. If I’ve been mixing at 1024 buffer and forget to lower it before playing again, the latency is like a flam with a silent first stick, if you get what I mean. Your fireface could have half the latency of the Focusrite if what they say about RME drivers is true.
15 gains two extra trigger inputs over 11. Labeled Aux and crash 2. Internally the 15 has more instruments (500 vs 196) stock kits (50 vs 25) and more user kit storage (50 vs 25), ability to send click to phones only (not stereo out), 10 FX, quick edit access to tuning, muffling, snare strainer, tempo synced illumination ring around jog dial, and kit chain function. A lot of these are irrelevant if using for triggering only. Plus as the toms are stereo for head/rim triggering, you can get y splitters to add additional playing surfaces (losing the ability to trigger rims) With the exception of positional sensing the sound engine is the same as TD30. Td30 has individual outs against the lesser modules stereo L R only. Don’t know how easy it is to route out of DAW via TD30 outs (when used as sound card), but once done make a template. Positional sensing, I’m sure I would love, but I can’t justify the jump in price for it. Waiting for it to trickle down the line. I you can afford it, TD30K for sure, but on a budget like me, the 15K doesn’t leave me wanting (except for some pad upgrades as I mentioned other post) http://www.roland.co.uk/blog/whats-the-difference-roland-td-11-and-td-15-electronic-drum-kits http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_V-Drums
Second hand TD15K, and only for the extra crash and tom input. Sell the PDX6’s that come with it, replace with 1 PDX8 from the bay. Pick up a 12″ snare pad, move PDX8 from snare to other tom. Get Vh11 from the bay, then worry about 15″ ride, use 13″ ride as crash, done. small pads = BAD. Concentrate on larger rack toms and snare first. Use the PDX8 on toms because hotspot free, and a 12″ or larger snare feels right. 30kv a waste if using VST’s.
Can’t see SDX kit pieces being available in E2. Will be nice when implemented in SD3 tho, goodbye xdrum wrangling.
F*** to the yeah. How many vendors make evolution that painless. Seriously, you Swedes blow my mind.Sell your licenses, use 2 computers, have 4 installs ( but we’ll reset em if your not a douche), upgrade without dickin around with a F*** tonne of patches. Take that crack whores.
What do you want out of a drum rompler? If you are happy with ED1 but wouldn’t mind extra fx and easier midi browsing/editing, go ED2. If you want more control of the overall drum sound, go SD2 bearing in mind you WILL need to invest in 1 or2 SDX’s. Just remember, once this rolls out, Toon will knockout 3 more Ezmix expansions, 2 EZX’s, 1 SDX, before dropping SD3 probably late ’14 to mid ’15.
Sounds like the ED2 installer will fetch the updates for the registered expansions in your user account, at the time of installation. Unless I misinterpret “rolled”, in which case an update/patch will most likely be available in your user download area post ED2 installation. Hope it’s automatic.
