There is probably some other issue, with the connection or the drivers to the keyboard. Can you get your keyboard working with a DAW (Cubase, Logic etc)?

Nice to hear!
We would like some further help from you to find out what caused the problem to start with:
Did you get any notifications from EZdrummer 2, saying that something was wrong?
Can you please send us the error log file from EZdrummer 2? You’ll find it by:
– hold on the ‘Alt’ key
– (while holding ‘Alt’ key) access the ‘Go’ menu in the Finder
– select ‘Library’ (if this entry does not appear, press alt again)
– in the Finder, browse to the folder /Caches/com.toontrack.ezdrummer2
– in that folder, please send us the errlog.doc file (if such exists) by attaching it to a reply to this forum thread.
That file may contain technical information about what caused the database to stop working so it would help us.
Thanks in advance
/Henrik

Something may have happened to the database that keeps track of the MIDI files. Try to reset it – in the main menu (top right corner of EZdrummer 2) select “Advanced”/”Reset Factory MIDI Database…”
Note that this will also clear the database from any custom MIDI folders you may have added, so you’ll have to re-add those.

Do you see any results when the tap2find box is empty (e.g. there’s no MIDI block in the drop zone)?
Do the other filters work (for example, do you see fills when you select Fills in the Type column)?
Do you see all your libraries under the Library column in the filters?
Many questions but it will help us to understand what’s causing the problem

Do you have Superior Drummer 2 registered to the account you are logged in on? Only users with Superior Drummer 2 registered can view the Superior support pages.

Yes, export is one way to do it. Another way is, as John said, to record arm EZdrummer 2 (press the red record button, next to the play button) – when you play back the MIDI from Logic you’ll have the MIDI as a block in EZdrummer 2 again.
You don’t need to delete your MIDI files on the EZdrummer 2 track when playing MIDI from Logic. Just disable Follow Host by pressing that button, also near the play button.

Thanked by: RandyA tip for those who use EZdrummer 2 – you can preview all drum MIDI released by Toontrack in the search tab by pressing “Show Web Shop MIDI”

In Logic Pro X – go to Window menu and select “Show Keyboard”. That will bring up an on screen keyboard. On the top left corner, press the icon that looks like an A button from a keyboard. Now you can use your keyboard as an MIDI keyboard.
I think that most of the modern DAWs has this feature built in.

To clarify – when you right click on a drum and look at the kits – those kits are the ones available from the currently selected library. On your screenshots you have the EZdrummer 2 Modern library loaded, so the kits you see in that list are the kits available in the EZdrummer 2 Modern library.
You should see Americana in the list on screenshot “Screen-Shot-2015-02-22-at-11.36.40.png” (since you’re able to use an Americana snare on other Libraries) – as soon as you have authorized Americana (see Scott’s post below).
Can you find the Americana in the EZX Libraries menu (the orange menu on the top of EZdrummer 2)?

This is a bug we found recently, the MIDI files get the wrong BPM information stored (all get 120 bpm). This will be fixed in a future update.
I don’t use Ableton myself, but I saw that it should be optional to include the MIDI file’s BPM – a dialog should ask about this. If you don’t see the dialog, it may help to restore that dialog: https://www.ableton.com/answers/midi-import-options

Your thoughts are noted, and I agree on your points. We will look into it!

Have you checked that the all MIDI notes are correctly sent by your e-kit? You can do that by recording what you play into a host and listen to the recorded MIDI.

What version of Superior Drummer 2 are you running? If not 2.4.2, please update to that so you are using the latest version!
