fixed the asio issue at least. In settings, (asio) i had to disable the spdif output as it was conflicting with the speaker out

now, how can I get it louder? laptop volume max, SD3 volume max…

i’ve got a completely fresh installation of SD3 and whilst the windows and direct sond output drivers work, they ahve latency that’s too great for to be of use.
Using asio and selecting it as the sound option, results in zero audio.

In addition, when I use the windows and others why is everything so quiet?

the updaters worked with the ezx files (although product manager cannot see they have been updated)

hi – so I manaully (web product manager), downloaded and updated the exz packages but the metal foundry sdx package, even when I drop the installer in the superior drummer folder, doesn’t do anything (rather, the windows UAC window opens, i click iok, but the actual updater doesn’t appear (although it is shown as a running tawsk in task manager).

When i use the product manager application, it now still tells me none of the ezx or sdz are updated and tells me to download them.
is there no way i can point the product manager to where the files have already been downloaded, and how can I install metal foundry updates? Do i just copy/paste the contents somewhere?

I did that before I went to work this morning and it does seem to work. I think i created a new floor tom and reduced the pitch by around -1.2 and a braodly similar (maybe just -0.9) for the rack tom.
worked fine. looks a bit of a mess as i still started with the default ’78 kit though.

none of my alessis presets (midi notes) have come across though, even though I re-loaded them so I’ll just reset it all again tonight before practice and save this new set specific to the vintage drums.

    cheers both of you.

    Hi, thanks.

I’ve generally got metal settings (metal machine, drumkit from hell, metal foundry), but bought the vintage as part of a jamming project with a friend.

i’d rather avoid further ezx’s right now if I can avoid it, I was just wondering of the different presets, if there was a way to get slightly different Toms around the kit.
I use an alessis dm10 kit which has space for 4 toms and I feel i’d be letting myself down…although I have added a cowbell from one of the metal other packs

    Bryan,
I’ve got the vintage set now too (looking for an old school ac/dc / zeppelin sound).

    My question, I hope you don’t mind…

Of the various presets available, there only appears to be a single rack and a single floor tom to choose from.
I would prefer at least 2 rack and 2 floor toms (different tom sounds…), can this be done?

Same for the cymbals and ride/crash – limited options available. is the size of the overall kit really that limited?

All re-installed and no further errors, thanks Scott.

JNow, who do I ask about how many TOMS i can have in this vintage kit?
when I add X-drums, it doesn’t seem to let me select other toms from the 1978 preset, only a single rack and single floor tom. but when I add extra ones anyway, they do still sound different.

Scott, it was from the DVD.
After registering, there was a notice on My Products that there were two updates available.
Going back to Metal Machine (the only location where that wav file exists…) I do not recall if that was a DVD install first, or not.

do the drum graphics on ezdrummer show that a drum strike has been made? i mean, when you are all connected up, then you strike the physical drum, does the graphic on exd ‘shade’ in black briefly showing it has detected a midi note? Are you using your computer headphones out? This is where your headphones should be connected, no longer to the module of the roland module. Your wrote exdrummer solo – do you mean toontrack solo? if you have any other programes open that use sound, then it is possible they are ‘locking up’ your soundcard’s output., e.g. any games running int he background, or videos, or skype type s/ware. Have you also installed ASIO4ALL – this will help with latency issues.

USB cable with DM10 into Superior Drummer (using Toontrack Solo) is what I use. I find sometimes that i have to switch on/off the DM10 sometimes and also toontrack – then when restarted and I select Midi Device, the DM10 is then listed. This happens occasionally with ASIO4ALL (the small program that helps fine-tune/almost eradicate latency issues.
