How about 60 for the ezkeys expansion + the midi? I’m thinking of buying the indiependent SDX now it’s on sale :). I’ve been buying too much toontrack kit lately
Would you be willing to combine this with the roots brushes SDX? Do you happen to have the NY vol 1 or 3 for sale as well?
I was just visiting the music store today, checked out an amazing bass. Luckily I only went home with what I had in mind to buy (a new descent strap). How do you like your new pedal so far?
I’m interested in the following:
This looks awesome! I’m curious about the new t0 be released P-bass expansion. I’m not a big fan of the stock bass, it lacks character. A modern Jazz bass with funk slap grooves would be perfect. The stock bass doesn’t have a nice percussive tone.
When it comes to “understanding” the Roland modules’ brush system, it is simply not communicated as anything else but hits. Why it works in the Roland modules is due to an internal system, I have been told.
BR,
John
I’m happy you took the time to answer this thoroughly. It seems that Roland has been neglecting this feature for years, it wasn’t on the TD 50 until an update. It was first introduced on the TDW-10 but it never got any significant updates since.
I can’t quite make my mind up about the price of the midi packs they seem quite interesting. There is a massive sale now for SDX’s, looks like it’s going to be another expensive month, oh well :).
That makes a lot of sense. For playing, I also like think the core library is enough and frankly triggers the best, the hihat triggering and triggering in general seems to work the best with the core library. I was kind of bargain hunting lately and watching videos about different expansions and such. You mentioned NY vol 3 in another topic, do you still have it?
Even tough I own a couple of (cheap) bass-guitars I still like EZbass for the natural sound, the articulations and composing tools. The best way to use it in my experience is to run it using clean DI and use a third party bass-amp plugin (even the one in your DAW) to give the sound some more roundness without it sounding mushy.
Before I dwindle on, I already have the ezkeys dream machine and two piano expansions. Any other sound expansions or midi add-ons would be nice.
I understand, if you still use it then it might not be the right time to sell it. I already have the progressive SDX, it’s quite versatile. If you want to sell any other SDX or ezkeys expansion, please let me know.
I’m happy to hear I’m not the only one asking for this. I made a post (probably in the wrong section?) for a feature request, but got no response. I figured I was about the only one who would want to use brushes in SD3, Roland doesn’t seem to develop their brush-kits since the TD-10, it’s a great niche for toontrack to step in.
I’m sorry for being cheap ;), I should have put that it was 50 euro’s. A big music retailer in Holland has both Roots SDX’ for sale for 100 as a bundle. I already have the sticks variant so that won’t work for me. Quite recently I bought the Rock Warehouse SDX on sale their, for 56 euro’s.If you put in a little price-drop I’ll definitely consider.
The “Roots” mallets&brushes SDX seems to have brushes covered, they could make an EZX out of it. However something that is lacking is for superior drummer is to actually “understand” how Roland modules communicate brush swirls etc. Simply put, you can’t play with brushes with EZD or SD3, even if you have the right samples.
Would you be willing to sell the “Brushes, Rods & Mallets SDX” for less than 70? I bought the sticks variant for around 50 quite recently.
If you are willing to sell “ROOT SDX: BRUSHES, RODS & MALLETS” for a discounted price, please let me know, I paid considerably less than $90 for the sticks SDX.
