am gonna have to reopen this.    Before I decide If i am to buy or not,  is there a short cut in plug-in mode in s3 for grit to triplets mode? because this was the main frustration with pro tools always had to cliuck on the menu option to change it.. very cumbersome.

having all possible tools to make the workflow as natural mon the go as possible is essential when somehow trying to replicate a real player which is almost impossible to do in an efficient way on a daw.

a sort of key stroke short-cut based laydown of thits mode (i foget what it was called in pro tools) is also key.

if not possible in plug-in mode, well thats just unfortunate because have to lay down guitars and drums on the fly in a daw.

(this should be sufficient proof as to why i hate the lack of centralization to all things in general.  lol.)

    Anyone at all?

This midi grid editor is not versatile enough. Sorry but not even close.  It badly calls for these features. The shaopes and colors and all the other stuff and even things which I prolly have not thought of. Needs serious customization and shaping to a user’s way of working. It should be automatically built-in to have all these features because drums are very hard to get natural when you are trying to create high level stuff that is insanely intense.  Its very hard to edit to be instantly proper at that level and so why not create a visual environment of penciling things in that makes it a lot easier in terms of easing the work that eyes have to do.  These things will help with allowing the eyes have a more automatic response and less fatigue,  as well as many modifier combos and key combos will allow for exponentially more scalable work.  This is such a no-brainer and I am surprised this hasnt been requested yet.

Hi, ok thanks. So then I will know to enable alternate so that I dont have to pencil on two lines.

But is there a way to color code the grid and have it reverse upside down so that the kick is on the bottom?  I am used to doing it that way in other editors.  Because it makes sense for the kick to be at the lowest point then the snare then the hit hats then toms then cymbals up top as a normal drum kit is oriented.

And i Really need color coded stuff so I can intelligently know what I am doing.

And with this seperate grid, when you are done your pattern does it import to a midi track in your host? How would the host know to be on time with it?

Also is there shortcuts to enable triplet divisions on the grid so as to not have to click the mouse for a drop-down to do that?

And finally, would there be any upgrades from 2 to 3?

If I may jump in, do any of these packs model analog hardware as does dsp-based UAD 2 plug-ins? What would be the benefit of these if one really likes UADs? Because perhaps these might be of some use to me if I am not quite a master at UAD stuff as my formal training is more of a TV broadcasting-based audio backround and not music-based. So although I really like UAD plug-ins, my current skill set is probabily limiting if i rely on those alone – but with these, how analog do they sound in comparison to UADs? In other words, is the TT EZM line meant for pro studios or is this series of plug-ins meant for more the amateur or the home studio-quality application? My level of expertise in music mixing/mastering falls somewhere between amateur and pro. Probably right smack dab in the middle.

And how are the reverbs. Are they of similar quality to lexicon or eventide?

Or will these questions be answered by how much i see my system usage and/or ram-meters go up? I have 8 gigs of ram atm.

The only reason i state my response as such is because there does not seem to be any options to demo the products.

The only financial gamble is if there are both versions but not if there would only be only either one of those two versions.

Software is software…. regardless of what hardware it runs on or what programming is used.  Hiring programmers for different platforms is not the concern.

high pass filter before distortion. but the kind with a higher than center peak or spikes where its cutoff point is – is most ideal….   I think the axe FX has one.

I think current users will be happy with the current product if new updates kept coming, and would either stay with it or pay for the upgrade.  I dont think too much anger would arise.

Kind of like UAD.  But also, for live use there would be no need for a computer to play the TT kits live.  It would be fully integrated into the front panel… (and there could be a dongle version too for DAW use.

It can also be like what was supposed to happen to the Eventide H8000FW for pro tools but never ended up happening – you would see the plug-in on the screen while the communication to the  unit over whatever cable would feed the unit whatever you are doing in the plug-in, and vice versa with a screen on the hardware, sending the plug-in whatever information you are doing on the screen.

So there would basically be three versions – one would be a rack, another a desktop (either for stand-alone usage with no computer), and another a dongle for computers without the front panel display or buttons.
