I hear you on that, I find that plugins are something like CD’s because you’re not always blown away the first time you hear it, but the more you listen to it the more it sinks in and the more you grow to love it. I purchased the Guitar Gods expansion as well, just you like you did, and went in and started really digging in to get a better sound out of it, the greatness of the fundamental sound is there, you just have to go in and find their sweet spots, don’t always settle for what settings the plugin has right when you call up a preset, and remember you can eve stack them.

One mistake I have seen many users do is load EZmix on a mono track, even though there are presets dedicated to mono instruments such as kicks and snares, etc, but if you open up a guitar preset on an auxiliary STEREO channel, and route your mono track to that stereo aux, you’ll get an almost instant gratifying sound.

I would love for Toontrack to help their users get a better sound by having some type of tips and tricks section or even manual along with their products, or even their site.

Finishing up this post by saying that Toontrack makes jaw dropping products and I am a loyal customer/user and WILL continue to buy their software because they’re simply great.

Hope I made sense and hope it helped you somehow.
