I would presume it is always better to be safe than sorry and get a signed proper legal release form.
Company names and their products are copyrighted and trademarked.Nine out of ten may not be bothered, but that one may cause you more problems than it is worth.CYA!
Getting it notarized probably isn’t a bad idea either.
Some educational books, for example, have disclaimers that the published work there in can be quoted up to a certain point without permission.

I’m not suggesting the article is right, but often truth is stranger than fiction.
Is it afloctoliptic?Sometimes a banana is just a banana!
I work for a lawncare service and for years now eco-people have been blaming the pesticides used in tree, shrub, and lawn care on the decline of honey bee colonies.
In fact it is because of a non-native bee parasite.

You can also pitch up the toms and save it as a preset.
Use your ears though because if you get carried away they can sound like a cheap disco percussion synth.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
If you are just starting out you might want to start out with MIDI groove clips. They can be used as is or can be edited In a DAW (digital audio workstation) or with programs like EZ Player Pro (see tutorials on the main page).
Toontrack offers MIDI grooves as well as 3rd parties such as http://www.groovemonkee.com/en/ and http://www.oddgrooves.com/.
As to MIDI controllers…you have to decide on what your needs are, budget, and so forth. There are dedicated drum MIDI controllers that vary in price as well as features.
Here are some controllers and guides you can check out:

Just get the best head phones you can afford if you have no monitors. And you can grab http://www.rndigital.com/inspector.html!
Actually I did come accross that analyser at http://www.kvraudio.com/ and it was listed as no longer available.I will certainly give it a try.
Right now I am using SPAN by Voxengo http://www.voxengo.com/product/span/ (which is also free).
As far as headphones I have Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.I don’t believe you can really find any negative reviews on them.
I’m not going to get into why I had to get rid of my Ozonic (which had an audio interface) and go with the Axiom 49 (which does not have an audio interface),it’s just to long of a story to get into on a forum.
So for now I am using ASIO4ALL to use the Realtek soundcard in the computer.
I must say I am surprised,it is rare to hear someone encourage the minimalist approach.I’m sure you have read your share of posts on any forum where the prevailing wisdom is that you can only successfully produce a recording with the best of equipment.
Well I’ll close for now.I don’t know if you have ever seen either of these

http://www.olypen.com/music/images/freqmusic.gif This is the Carnegie Hall Music Chart.,not the sharpest picture but to get a real quality reproduction costs $25.00. http://www.digido.com/Shopping-Cart/Carnegie-Hall-Chart/flypage.tpl.html but it is far more detailed.

I still don’t get “only a few sounds” in TMF.That library is huge.
With my current set up I have to run in 16 bit to explore the full kit let alone some of the more extensive presets.
To each is own, but personally,TMF sounds nothing like DKFH to me.

My best advice is to go over to Toontrack TV on the main web page and watch all the videos, especially the tutorials.
That would answer just about all your questions as to whether or not to buy.

I’m guessing you are talking about the samples on the product page.
Don’t judge a library by it’s samples.
I was uncertain about buying TMF last year because I am not into the type of metal most associated with TT.
Having said that,I was not disappointed when I did get it.There is an enormous ammount of drums to choose from.
It is in no way metal exclusive.
This year I’m going for C&V.
