I agree with all you said. Unfortunately Toontrack doesn’t care as much about existing customer as they do their bottom line.

Thanks for the feed back Rogue. I did find a few used FD-7’s on Ebay, but will try more tweaking to the pedal correction before buying one. I did try all the presets and didn’t really notice any difference. I did notice the curve visually change in the mapping though.. also tried my own curves.

Good info. I love C&V and the less processed sounds. Also love DFH1, but not the slow loading times 🙁 Anywho.. just ordered Evil Drums SDX, so looking forward to testing driving the more ‘rockier version of C&V’ 🙂 I jumped on the sweetwater %50 off sale.

Right, I never questioned the difference in sound quality. So far, just making some changes in the velocity settings has helped more than anything. I’m now running at 64 buffers with no trouble.

I have my profire2626 set to 256 buffers.. default I think. Maybe i’ll drop her down to 128. I have tweaked the velocity on the snare and toms and that helps a little.

the ‘finder/explorer’ option only opens the explorer window.  You’ll have to drag the preset in that window manually. Then you’ll need to shut down SD2 and restart, at which point the preset will be available under ‘user presets’ for midi
