Ok, good start.  I am getting closer.
 
When I strike an open hi-hat on my pad, it does not sound like the open hi-hat preview in the construct page (clicking the speaker in the bottom right corner box).  My pad sounds very weak, and almost like it’s not playing the correct sample.  Perhaps the mapping is a bit askew?

Grandaddy,  thanks a bunch.  I have all 3 hi-hat controls triggering now.  However, the open position is WAY quieter than the closed position.  Any ideas on that?  Also, I chose “edrums” under the midi menu as you suggested.  Was curious as to if I should be choosing “Superior” if I am running the custom & vintage samples?  Thanks again!!
