Maybe you only want to go to the second or “advanced” page after you click on Bounce. I think putting a check mark on the first item there will switch the bounce operation to mix all of the channels including effects into a single stereo track that will be called track-1 or similar.
I’m guessing that if that were the default bounce mode a lot of confusion and frustration could be avoided.
The only MIDI/score editor I know of that let’s you intelligently set the feel or swing of a rhythm track is Sibelius. Agreed that that is needed.
I would like to be able to compliment the very beautiful Gretsch and Premier kits by copying their toms into the empty tom positions and then detuning the copies. But that doesn’t seem possible now. Could that be considered for a future release?
The velocity 127 and general high values could be a style choice, probably when playing heavier music. If I understand how SD3 can be configured to choose articulations, you can setup a property (or load a pre-configured preset) that uses a rimshot sample for the snare when a velocity of 127 is encountered.
There’s an excellent video with exactly that information:

Also, I wonder if the Smoothing parameter affects transitions between hi hat articulations. I think it instead controls only secondary (and tertiary and so on) hits on an already vibrating snare or tom shell.
It was a little confusing. It seems you should “print” the online user manual. Instead of choosing a printer you need to have installed a utility like PDF Creator. PDF Creator will take the output from the print queue and create a PDF document and save it at a location you choose.
Some suggested improvements for the Superior Drummer 3 manual:
Change all instances of “buss” to “bus”.
Change all instances of “preform” to “perform”
