I don’t use piano sounds very often. You might find this comical. The Modartt Pianoteq pianos can sound very good, but not cheap. This happened at least once. I used the trial version of a Pianoteq plugin, but from what I remember, the trial version had a note or two per octave that didn’t work on purpose. I didn’t feel like the Pianoteq was worth it for me to buy since I knew I wouldn’t use it much, so I wrote a song that didn’t have those couple of notes. What a cheapskate!

Spirit,
Thank you for the review! Now your song: the electric piano (Fender Rhodes or Wurlitzer?) sounds very nice, what is that? I am way more of a natural at writing music on a synth as opposed to an electric piano emulation (and I have a few), even though I took piano lessons for 5 years. Some nice vocals wouldn’t hurt, but otherwise a nice song! Drums sound nice. I bought EZD 3 on the presale, so I am still learning with it. I am about a third of the way done on a new song. It uses some reggae drum beats from EZD 3, though I noticed that Reggae EZX sounds better playing through Superior Drummer 2 (with more stuff to tweak) as opposed to through EZD 3. I do like some of the EZD3 drum sounds, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it. Though EZD 3 (I had EZD 1 but never had EZD 2, except for trial version) made it much more easy to hunt for similar drum patterns I probably wouldn’t have found on my own.

Thanked by: SpiritSpirit,
Thank you for listening and commenting, I appreciate it! Others have mentioned I should turned down my vocals (though it sounds fine to my headphone, ear, and brain combo).

Thank you for answering. More often than not, I run various (one at a time) EZX’s within my Superior Drummer 2.

Spirit,
Perhaps a bit repetitive, though pleasant. I like it. Drums come through loud and clear.

Thanked by: SpiritSpirit,
Thank you for listening and commenting, I appreciate it! The male vocals are my own. The female vocals are EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers. Yeah, that’s a common problem of mine: the more stuff I add, the more likely that the drums get more buried.

Spirit,
Looks like you changed your name? Hopefully I remember that in the future. I often like songs with a Middle Eastern influence, and I think your song is quite good too! Nice job! Perhaps you could check out my latest music in a thread near you.

satrianalf,
The bass (are you playing real electric bass on that?) and drums sound jazzy. If that’s real electric bass, nice playing! I like the synth part. Perhaps a bit repetitive, though I like it!

Thanked by: Spiritsatrianalf,
Thank you for checking out my music and replying, I appreciate it! For “We Can Heal”, the female vocal is from EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers. I sang the lead male vocals.

It has lots of lead guitar, so it gets by OK without vocals. It sounds nice to me! Nice drums and organ too. Perhaps you could check out my latest thread.

Thank you for the review! Now your song: certainly interesting. A couple of the instruments: not sure if they were synths or guitars with a lot of effects. Sounds pretty cool! I think this could work well as background music for a TV show or a movie. 🙂

satrianalf,
OK, I am replying in my own thread since I did not see a recent thread from you. So the song name is in regard to the Ben Folds Five guy? Nice keyboard/piano playing in your song; that’s what stands out for me. The drums are good too. Nice audio quality. Happy New Year!
