Niiiice! When the build up to 00:45 area happens, it’s just M/ That is an awesome mix, I thoroughly enjoyed this. What is that wailing noise around 2:25, probably a distorted guitar through a ringmod with lots of reverb? It sounds like a massive god wailing in the distance. And when you think it’s over, it gets rainy and weirder! Fantastic!

Hahaha massive god wailing in the distance is an epic description. If we ever become good enough to make a music video, can we use that as a tag line? Nope no ringmod/reverb. I just used some chorus and boosted the mids a bit while EQing. And I think it sounds so because of what VOLiTiAN said – dissonant note pairs kinda give an eerie feel sometimes.

Are you using a doubler by any chance? The left track of the guitars seems looser than the right, for me, it’s losing the impact of the staccato’d parts…

No doubler. I think it just wasn’t played very tightly. I can’t think of anything else o.O

Oh and we’re working on some new stuff and some solos. Will post here when they’re done 🙂

    Thanks man!

We recorded using a Pod X3 Live. No re-amping though. We used my guitarist’s tones. If you want I can ask him what his settings were.

    Hey VOLiTiAN,

Do you parallel-compress each drum part individually or do you parallel-compress the entire drum track as a whole?
