I was mainly asking about what chain of sound card > midi interface would work best (keeping in mind it has to be firewire as I’m using an iMac).
Sorry for the confusing post lol.
Paul.
Don’t wanna hichjack the thread but…
I am going a similar way but with my 2Box kit. Can you tell me what setup you use regarding your interface and settings etc. Do you use Superior stand alone (solo) or VSTi (Logic etc)
Kind Regards.
Paul.
As far as i know (used to have an alesis electronic kit) the DM5 does not support you actually putting your own samples into the module. the only way you could do what you want in that case is to take the output of the DM5 into a USB/Midi interface and then assign your midi note from the DM5 kick drum to the Metal Foundry kick drum and then output that onto a monitoring system (sound card etc).
What i used when i had this set up is an Alesis I/O but i wasn’t completely happy with it, might be fine for you tho. This essentially bypasses the DM5 and you plug all your kit’s pads directly into the Alesis and then the Alesis has a USB interface which you can assign to Metal Foundry.
