Hey this is a pretty good idea. I would just add that just like EZ Drummer, and Superior Drummer… There should be an upgrade route, including pricing, and still being able to use all those EZ mix 2 expansions and their presets, just as you would be able to in EZ mix 2.

What I mean is something that could be used in games/movies that would fit in an ambient track, or track building suspense better. I use symphonic/orchestral as an example above of some, but also some on the other end of the spectrum like some “Industrial” drums as well.

Yea like a Metal God Shredders pack, with Petrucci, Loomis and maybe Keith Merrow, and Marco Sfogli.

    That would be freaking amazing

I figured I would chime in here, since I am a new Toontrack, and EZ mix user.

I use a 23 inch 1080p monitor. I noticed that EZmix was just a bit smaller than I was anticipating, but it isn’t an issue. I use even smaller plugins like Sytrus from Imageline, which a great plugin, but really small.

The forums over at ImageLine have requests for resizes too, but the devs also speak about difficulties doing this, as well as the idea of vector based stuff… Lead dev even stated that now is a good time to start thinking, and working on things especially when retinal (or near retinal) displays. become more of a standard.

EZ mix 2 isn’t too small for me, its slightly smaller than Pod Farm 2 platinum. I can always automate the few parameters, in/out parameter 1&2 in my DAW for more precise changes/control.
But if I were to go any higher pixel density than I am, I can see how that would start to be tiresome with the eyes.

I am fine with it as is though, 1080p will be standard for a bit longer. But it is something that will need to be addressed before too long.

Actually my GF just got it for me!

It will also be a valuable tool for her, as she is just starting out with music, she likes the idea of quality results with minimal “tweakage,” and dialing in. Plus we got it on sale.

We went with the EZ mix 2, plus 6 pack bundle on Sweetwater.

Just waiting for the order to process, might have to wait till morning.

I am not expecting it to replace everything I use, for various reasons, but I suspect it to compliment, and grow my sonic arsenal very nicely.

I will take advantage of that six pack deal soon, but through Sweetwater.

I have decided to go with these 5:

    Metal guitar gods
    Amps
    Mixing tool box
    Mastering I
    Mastering II

However, for the final one I am stuck between “Metal” and “Metal Essentials.”
    Any input between the two?

These are just the 6 I will start with. If I really like what I can do with it, and enjoy working with it, then I will probably buy more expansions.

Good question, I didn’t look through all of them of course.

but I glanced at a good 7, or so, of them.

    Metal
    Metal Essential
    Mix tool box
    Mastering I
    Mastering II
    Amps
    Metal Guitar Gods

However, judging by the names of the presets, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of duplicates (none I have noticed).

I don’t know for sure though, as I am about to purchase a TT product for the first time with the six pack from sweetwater myself. With the selection of those I listed above, but with either the “Metal” or “Metal Essential” missing from it.
