If it was either/or between the following:
I would choose option #2 all day long. This allows you to get what you want, although not as easy as a one switch function of disabling the low-b string. However, it would allow high note harmonics on the thicker strings, and higher notes to be played further up the neck on the thicker strings, and long string slides as well.
Take note Toontrack, So don’t add in a note to disable the low-B string, and call it done.

Thanked by: MRodhsonOK, I found the Keyboard Shortcuts. Which there are some for Zoom. So disregard that. That was me not thinking to check in the settings tab, but looking everywhere else first.
However, I still think that an ability to click & hold middle mouse scroll wheel button & dragging the mouse left & right to scroll through the grid/playlist of EZ Bass without zooming out would be ideal.
After watching the video on it posted today it seems like it is very much missing a key feature. A key feature that will keep me from investing in EZ Bass, and quite frankly a lot of other people too. That is DI out. Are the FX/Amping/EQ all baked in, or are we going to get actual dry tracks out of this for our own ReAmping using stuff like Helix, or EZ Mix?
Hopefully it does have DI, and it just hasn’t been stated/announced yet. I will gladly eat my words if it does. However, if it doesn’t (I hate to say it) but EZ Bass will be a pass for me.
Yes. There is a DI preset for each included bass (modern and vintage).
Oh snap!!!!!!!
Then I will gladly eat my words. (quick what is the emoji for that)
I spoke too soon, and now that I have conformation that it has DI presets…. Oh boy. Looks like I will be having to set some money aside for EZBass, Possible expansions, and Midi packs.
Thank you so much Scott for taking the time out to confirm this with me.
Regards,
Billy Procell

I honestly don’t even want them thinking about EZ Guitar until they get EZ Bass completed, and expanded on.

I’m also using the plugin from Ample and agree that it’s brilliant. The sounds and articulations are fantastic and it includes a great library of midi grooves to get you started. Honestly I think Toontrack have missed the boat on this one -been following this thread for nearly five years and they still haven’t done it, so I don’t thinks EZBass is every going to happen. I’d also like to see some symphonic or classical midi packs for EZKeys, but it seems to me that Toontrack has a policy of deliberately NOT producing what their users ask for. We get what THEY feel like producing. Maybe I’m wrong, I do hope so. Next months big reveal… EZBass and Symphonic Metal midi pack!!! Lol
Yea, I mean if they do come out with EZbass it will literally have to be better sounding, and/or better interface than Ample’s offerings. Not to mention support for several bass types for me to even think about getting it. Ample has Precision Finger + Pick, Jazz Finger + Pick, Metal (EB STingray), and Fodera (I haven’t tried this one yet). They even have an acoustic bass guitar.
A lot of the customers that were waiting for EZbass with absolutely no reply have moved on to investing in other companies that do offer the bass guitar stuff. Namely AmpleSound, Trillian, and Kontact. I too think they just missed the mark. I still love my Toontrack products, and I am curious every single time they release something new. But EZBass was a missed opportunity.
Of course perhaps they realize this, and decided to forego it all together. OR perhaps they thought that when they do release it… that it has to be amazing, and completely surpass the competitions offerings. That would be great, and I would definitely be interested. But after 5 years, with no word, I think they decided the former.
Honestly, I was holding out for EZ Bass for a few years now. No other bass guitar software did what I wanted while sounding how I wanted it to. That changed when I bought some bass guitar plugins from Ample Sound. I use them dry track, and ReAmp. I doubt most people, including actual bassists, will be able to tell the difference between it, and real bass guitar, if it is programmed correctly. It has all the articulations you need, and the sound quality is unrivaled with what I have auditioned against it. They also have great acoustic guitars as well.
So at this point unless Toontrack releases something truly stellar with EZBass, I don’t see a reason I would get it at this point. That is the downside to working on things in the quiet while customers have constantly asked about it, and that is if they are even working on such a thing. I say this as a person that owns (and uses) EZD1 & 2, EZKeys, EZMix2, and a plethora of expansions & midi packs.
Monday was only Country Midi Pack for EZD2/SD3. Nothing I needed.
Tuesday was Pipe Organ EZKeys as you assume. Great sale, one I took advantage of.
Today is obviously the Movie Score EZkeys midi. I already had it.
I have to bump this as well.
I had most of my ToonTrack products before the new product manager came out. (and I have a pretty decent amount!)
However during this BF/CM sales I picked up the Dream pop 3 pack promo for EZ Drummer, the Progressive EZX, and the Post Rock EZX. I Also picked up yet another pick your own 6 pack for midi drum, and a 6 pack of pick your own EZ Mix expansions.
The only thing I have installed so far out of my new purchases are the 4 of the 6 EZMix packs. When I launched the ToonTrack Product Manager I was already pleased by its lay out. Upon seeing I needed a few updates for some of my products it was an absolute breeze to update them, and it was super fast as well. When I was choosing my 4 EZ mix packs I noticed that you have listed in the box when I go to choose which pack I wanted, the ones that I already owned are shown, but grey’ed out, though have the ability to get an additional license… this is a nice touch. Installing my new products was just as simple and easy.
I had to post my appreciation for this new route you have taken. It does not go unnoticed.
Thank you Toontrack for making this really efficient,
A Satisfied returning customer.
I would like to cast my vote as well. This is the 1 mode that I miss from EZDrummer 1. Going into Half time, or 2x could really help with the flow of auditioning.
So +1 from me.

Hi,
the Progressive EZX has its own MIDI Library, also performed by Brody Simpson but it is not the same as the Progressive MIDI Pack.
Oh ok thanks, that clears it up for me.

Thank for the feedback, it’s noticed. We can’t comment on when or if certain features will appear in our software.
It’s a nice feature to be able to use filters to exclude a certain tag. This is available in EZdrummer 2’s filter section (when searching for MIDI grooves), right clicking a tag open a menu where you can select “Exclude”.
Great. Thanks for replying so quickly too!
Its nice to see that this is circling the thoughts of the Toontrack team! As Toontrack is definitely a core part of my studio!
EZmix2, (which I use quite a bit) it doesn’t replace all my other plugins, but it definitely adds to the arsenal. (great for tone shaping, and auditioning effects chains on relative audio sources)
EZdrummer 2 (I use on every track requiring drums)
EZkeys (a decent amount, even though its a new addition for me.)
All of them have a nice amount of expansions/midi additions…
Thanks,
Billy / Lachra
