Ok so it is when you set up Ezdrummer 2 or SD2 with ez player pro. Ez Player pro will do what I want olive and synced to the groove track in Cubase 8 and I can record and change fill variations on the fly Can also just click the ride symbal on a kit and record the ride cymbal bell. Very cool stuff!!!!!!!
Terry
I do drag and drop as you mentioned, it is the filling in with groove fills recording live, or changing the groove variation on the fly that I am trying to work out. Cubase is set for recording the track is armed to record, however when I stop recording the track where there should be midi data disappears and the track is blank.
Thank you again for the assistance.

I create a SD2 track, lay down the groove by dragging and dropping into the track, then open a new sd2 track but unable record when push “play” button on sd2 on and off at the groove variation i want
does that make sense?
Yes. when I stop recording the area for the midi notes disappears, the greyed out section on the track and no midi note are showing up
wondering if I use EZ drummer for building a drum track then drop in the SD.2 midi track for more detailed eq, panning, etc? might be a way to handle it.
Loving the expanded utilities in SD2!!!!!!!! big time loving it !
ok.
So I just need to inspect in the mixer if the individual drum pieces are separated out. Is they a way to over ride a preset or how the producer set up the kit?
Thank you Scott!
Since I am unable to amend the sizing of Song creator I have to view the midi patterns in a small format. Whereas if I drag and drop in cubase
I and re-size my midi patterns to what ever size I want height and width. within ez drummer I have a fixed environment/
So if I purchase EZ Player Pro, I would then have identifiers within my cubase track?
The song creator area is a limited space and it is easier for me to drag a midi pattern to my drum track within cubase & “see” the pattern and continue building within cubase. Just a visual way for me to have my own workflow.
Love the program and the drums are fantastic !!!!!
Is there away to write the midi reference in the cubase track? Or do I have to use the notes field for each midi file dragged and dropped into cubase?
My question is, in Cubase 5 and ez drummer 2 the identifiers you reference in the above post do not show up in my drum track within cubase 5. the only identifer I have is “EZ Drummer 01”
when I pull a file from ez drummer 2 into cubase there is on EZ drummer 01, there is no directory names at all.
