    Hi Mick,

Thanks for reporting your experience, I finally got a chance to look at LUNA again this evening and found a work around to the issue I initially described above.

Essentially, do not try to click any empty instrument slot in the GUI and potentially expect to see all of your licenced VIs. At least that is my experience.

Rather, either click the + (add tracks icon), or Track > New Instrument (from the main LUNA menu, or shortcut Shift + Command + I) to see all of your instruments. But this way means that a new instrument track has to be created to add one of the missing VIs. Further, for some reason, if you clear out a VI that was initially missing via the contextual inspector, and then re-click the instrument slot to load another VI, then the VIs that were missing will be missing again.

My problem was that I re-built my DAW template first to get used to LUNA and that was my mistake I guess. Initially, I started with Kontakt (that does show in the contextual search inspector), and then duplicated that track, to get the next instrument track, cleared the instrument slot out and then clicked it again looking for SD3. That is when my problem started, and I ran out of time to keep digging around, given that the UAD forums and Toontrack forums had no clear, factual information. There were a few “should haves” etc floating around, and common audio DAW app fixes being suggested, but no concrete, proven steps to follow.

Like most DAWs there are many ways to achieve a particular result, and the way I approached adding VIs seems to be buggy at the moment. It is interesting to note that not all of my NI VIs show via the inspector when clicking on an empty instrument slot, but Kontakt does.

All up, I think this is a bug and have reported it to UAD via the in app feedback tool.

The simple solution for me was to create a new VI track rather than duplicate via one of the two methods above.

ps … I should have said from the get go that LUNA looks and feels awesome, and is snappy on my late 2013 Mac Pro. Also the workflows that UAD have built into LUNA are fresh and intuitive. Gotta love the shortcut keys matching the other DAW I am used to! Unlike the UAD forums where there is one post about SD3 and LUNA, it does not crash for me now that I have it loaded. Fingers crossed!

    Thanks again,
    Ben

    Hi jord,

Thanks for replying, plugin scanning is automatic inside LUNA, and yes you are correct that UAD have noted that multiple outs are not currently supported in either the initial v1.0.0 release or the v1.0.1 update.

Can I please ask what you mean by “there are some people running SD3 in Luna”? Are you referring to a specific online thread that you can post a URL to here? Or do you know someone who has told you that they are using SD3 inside LUNA? Thanks!

At this point the only other thing that comes to mind is that I am running OSX 10.14 Mojave and not OSX 10.15 Catalina, but I am not going to upgrade OS on a whim. I have a range of other licenced 3rd party AU plugins and instruments that are working as intended, and also a range of licenced AU 3rd party plugins and instruments that are also not displaying.

Is there anyone out there on the Toontrack forums who can see Toontrack plugins inside LUNA v1.0.0 or v1.0.1 and is able to load them without problems? If so are you on 10.14 or 10.15? Thanks!

    Thanks again,
    Ben
