Maybe I’m missing something, but I also see a Crash 2 input on the TD-11. About MIDI conversion in the module, I mean, don’t some module have a better ability to convert trigger signal to MIDI better than others or is it all the same on that level? What I’m afraid of is that I use to have a TD-3 and when it came to Hi-Hat and Ride subdivisions (CY-5 and CY-8), there were a lot of inconsistent things being recorded, and so I had to do a lot of editing.

So is the only advantage of the of the TD-15 over the TD-11 the extra tom you can add? Do you think the MIDI conversion is as good in the TD-11 as the TD-15? Doesn’t the TD-30 have the advantage of offering positional sensing? Is that an advantage with SD 2.0?

I’m reposting the questions:
Does Toontrack recommend a particular e-drum with S2.0?
Do they use a particular e-drum kit to record the midi loops and test their product?
Do users generally agree on a kit working particularly well with S2.0?
I heard about the Hart Pro 6.4 + the TD-20 as a good combination for S2.0. Is this true?
Would it be possible to recommend the best kits for S2.0, but also recommend some for low budgets?
I’m also wondering, which modules would be best for S2.0?
Thanks for your help

I have a TD-3 but I only use it to trigger S2.0. I never use the TD-3 sounds.
Compressed sounds on a chip rom don’t have the potential of sounding as good as a sample library with a lot of ram.
Roland also wrote to me saying their best triggering system was in the TD-12/20 modules. Second best quality in the TD-4/9 and then the former generation. So I’m not sure where does the TD-8 figure in this; Maybe in the former generation. I would probably purchase a TD-4 before.
Thanks for your help.

I wrote to Roland. They tell me that among their products, the TD-20 and TD-12 modules would have the best quality for accuracy, reliability and fast response triggering. Next category would be the Td-9 and TD-4 because they have their latest technology. The former generations would not be as good. If I understand correctly, since I’m only using the module to trigger S2.0, it would make sense to save money and avoid buying the TD-20 or TD-9.
Are there any other modules out there that would be competitive to the td-12 or td-4 modules? It’s unfortunate we have to pay for all the sounds and stuff we don’t need.
